May 29, 2026 · Every Year · 50 Days · 50 States · 50 Years, Contending for the Destiny of Kansas and the USA

Kansas is called the People of the South Wind (from Kansa/Kaw tribe: "people of the south wind"), Wheat State (agricultural heartland), and tied to Bleeding Kansas (1850s violence over slavery, abolitionist stand). Kansas, arise in your south wind destiny! Holy Spirit blow revival. The righteous, rebuild foundations on Christ. America, redeem the people groups through prayer and obedience.

The Destiny of Kansas: A Call to Redemption for Families, People Groups, and the Heartland in Prayer and Revival

Every day we pray for a state and every week, we pray for a particular item for America. This week centers on the redemption of different people groups in the USA, today with a specific focus on Native Americans. We examine family status, spiritual atmospheres, historical roots, and prophetic destinies, grounding everything in current data, history, and biblical truth. Psalms 11:3 asks, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?" — a fitting question for broken family and societal foundations in the USA.

Current Family Status in Kansas Compared to America's Founding

At America's founding, families were the bedrock — strong nuclear units rooted in biblical marriage (one man, one woman, Genesis 2:24), high fertility, low divorce, and intergenerational faith transmission. Pioneers and settlers emphasized covenantal marriage, child-rearing as stewardship, and moral formation. Divorce was rare and stigmatized; abortion and same-sex marriage were unthinkable legally and culturally. Families built communities with shared Protestant ethics.

Today in Kansas, families face erosion. The divorce rate stands around 1.7 per 1,000 population (lower than some states but still significant). National U.S. divorce rates hover at about 2.4 per 1,000, with around 40–50% of marriages ending in divorce historically (though recent rates have declined slightly). Same-sex marriage, legalized nationally in 2015, exists in Kansas with numbers in the low thousands cumulatively since then. Gender confusion and transgender ideologies impact youth through education and culture. Abortion numbers surged: Kansas reported 19,467 abortions in 2023 (up 58% from 2022), equating to roughly 53+ per day, with many from out-of-state due to nearby bans. This tears at family foundations.

Families in Kansas and the USA have shifted from covenantal, multi-generational models to individualistic, fragmented ones influenced by secular humanism, no-fault divorce (widespread since the 1970s), economic pressures, and cultural shifts. Discipling families today often falls to churches amid declining attendance, with many youth disengaging. Influences include media, schools promoting progressive ideologies, and economic stressors pulling parents away.

Impacts: Divorce correlates with poverty, emotional trauma, and intergenerational cycles. Same-sex marriage and gender confusion challenge biblical sexuality (Genesis 1:27, Matthew 19:4–6), leading to identity confusion and family redefinition. Abortion ends potential lives and wounds mothers/families, contradicting "Thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20:13). These have weakened social fabric, increasing single-parent households and spiritual disconnection.

Focus on Native Americans: Uniqueness, History, and Redemption

Uniqueness: Native Americans are the original inhabitants of the land, with profound spiritual connection to creation, resilience through trials, and diverse cultures emphasizing community, stewardship of land, and oral traditions. They embody endurance and a deep sense of place.

Pre-Columbus Name: The land was not called "America" (named after Amerigo Vespucci post-1492). Indigenous peoples had their own names for territories; the continent had no single unified name but was home to hundreds of sovereign nations.

Bondages: Historical trauma from displacement (Trail of Tears), broken treaties, cultural erasure, residential schools, poverty, alcoholism, substance abuse, family breakdown, and spiritual strongholds like animism or syncretism. Modern issues include reservation challenges, health disparities, involvement in gambling/casinos, and identity loss.

Redemptive Gifts and Purposes

Gifted in intercession, land stewardship (Genesis 2:15), prophetic insight, community harmony, and resilience mirroring Israel's story. Their purpose may involve healing the land, restoring covenant with the Creator (through Christ), and modeling reconciliation. Biblical parallel: God redeems nations (Revelation 7:9).

Traditions

Powwows, sweat lodges, smudging, storytelling, drum circles, vision quests, and respect for ancestors/nature. Many blend with Christianity today.

Different Tribes

Major ones include Cherokee, Navajo, Sioux (Lakota, Dakota), Apache, Cheyenne, and in/near Kansas: Kansa (Kaw), Osage, Pawnee, Wichita.

Kansas: Names, Uniqueness, Destiny, and History

Name Meaning and Destiny: "Kansas" from Kansa/Sioux, meaning "people of the (south) wind." Winds symbolize Holy Spirit (John 3:8, Acts 2). Destiny: Central breadbasket for provision (physical/spiritual), prayer hub ("heartland"), freedom fighter against injustice. Prophetic: Wind of revival blowing from Kansas to the nation. Connect to destiny — farmers as stewards (Genesis 1), abolitionist legacy as justice (Micah 6:8).

Uniqueness: Geographic center of the contiguous U.S., agricultural powerhouse, "Free State" history. Unlike coastal states, it embodies heartland values and resilience. Scriptures: Like a "city on a hill" (Matthew 5:14) for provision; wind as uncontrollable move of God. Historical examples: Bleeding Kansas prefigured Civil War freedom. Current: Agricultural challenges (drought) call for spiritual repentance of "drought spirits." Consecrate farmers/families for the 50-year provision/prayer role.

Deviation from Founding: Founded on anti-slavery, freedom, and agrarian biblical values. Deviated via secularism, complacency, and adopting national trends in family breakdown.

Early Revivals: Topeka Outpouring 1901 under Charles Parham birthed modern Pentecostalism (speaking in tongues), influencing Azusa Street. Kansas saw Holiness and revival fires.

Current Spiritual Atmosphere in Kansas

  • Divorce/Same-Sex/Abortion: Divorce ~1.7/1,000; abortions ~53/day (2023 data); same-sex marriages exist but limited specific counts (national trends apply).
  • Moves of God: 1901 Topeka revival; ongoing pockets of charismatic and Pentecostal renewal.
  • Witchcraft: Occult presence exists (pagan communities); levels reflect national rise in Wicca/paganism.
  • Idols per Tim Keller: Money, success, family (as ultimate), politics, experience over Word — common in heartland complacency or agricultural/economic focus.
  • Most Committed Sin: Idolatry of comfort/complacency, sexual immorality, materialism.
  • Lifestyle: Rural/urban mix; influenced by agriculture, conservative values clashing with progressive shifts, media, economics. Heartland steadiness but spiritual drought.

Leaders as Priests: Kansas leans conservative (Republican strongholds), but liberal influences in cities/universities. Festivals like state fairs or Amelia Earhart (July) or others. July/August portals? The Church should claim these as altar months for prayer.

People Groups, Bondages, Gifts, and Destinies in America

Every people group and state in America has their own bondages and destiny. Remember: a destiny is either manipulated or fulfilled. The bondages have to be broken upon every people group and state and the entire nation; then the journey of destiny is set in play as it was with the children of Israel before starting their journey to Canaan. God calls us the way we are but does not use us the way we are; He calls the foolish things of the world but does not use fools. He calls the weak, but He does not use the weak (1 Cor. 1:26–27; Acts 1:8).

People Group / Ethnicity Key Bondages Gifts & Strengths Prophetic Destiny
Native Americans Historical displacement, broken covenants, witchcraft, generational trauma Deep spiritual connection to land, resilience, crafts, stewardship Restoration of covenantal authority, healing of the land
African Americans Legacy of slavery, systemic injustice, identity fragmentation, drugs, witchcraft, poverty mentality Creative excellence, endurance, prophetic worship and intercession Leading national revival, justice movements, family restoration and travailing intercession
European Americans Materialism, spiritual complacency, colonial guilt, legalism Innovation, governance structures, pioneering spirit Releasing Kingdom blueprints for society, economy, and governance
Hispanic/Latino Americans Immigration struggles, family fragmentation Strong family values, entrepreneurial drive, passionate faith Bridge-building between nations, multiplication of the Gospel
Asian Americans Model minority pressure, cultural idolatry, isolation Academic excellence, discipline, technological innovation Wisdom and strategy for national advancement
Other Immigrant Groups Cultural assimilation loss, economic marginalization Diverse skill sets, work ethic, global connectivity Enriching the melting pot with Kingdom culture

The Veil and Prayer Web

The veil covering people groups (especially Natives/youth), families, and Kansas: Deception, trauma, secular humanism, idolatry, spiritual blindness (2 Corinthians 4:3–4). Revival requires tearing the veil through unified prayer (Hebrews 10:19–20).

In the 50 days/states/years initiative, pray for realignment to God's purpose. Build a prayer web across all 105 Kansas counties to form a state web — unceasing prayer like the Moravians to tear strongholds. Repent of drought (natural/spiritual), raise Kansas as provision/prayer center for 50 years. Consecrate farmers/families. Native Americans' redemption keys national healing.

Kansas, arise in your south wind destiny! Holy Spirit blow revival. Righteous, rebuild foundations on Christ. America, redeem the people groups through prayer and obedience.

The Prophetic Identity of Kansas — People of the South Wind

Kansas derives its name from the Kanza (Kaw) people — the "People of the South Wind." Prophetically, this means Kansas is called to be a carrier of the Spirit of God, a state that releases the fresh wind of the Holy Spirit, revival, and unstoppable fire across America and the nations.

John 3:8
"The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

Kansas, you are unstoppable when filled with the Holy Spirit! You are revival carriers. You are wind-stirrers. You are meant to ignite prayer and power when the nation grows cold.

We remember the historic Topeka Outpouring of 1901 at Bethel Bible College, led by Charles Parham. On January 1, 1901, student Agnes Ozman was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in tongues — the first documented outbreak of this Pentecostal fire in the 20th century. This spark spread and climaxed in the Azusa Street Revival (1906) in Los Angeles through William Seymour, a spiritual son of Parham.

Kansas, your name and your history align! You are a prophetic wind gate and a pivot state that can determine the spiritual direction of America.

Topeka 1901 — Azusa 1906

The International House of Prayer and all prayer networks in Kansas — rise up! Connect, stir the fire, and release another wave of prayer that births revival and reformation. Kansas, return to your inheritance! Carry the fire again. Become carriers of the Holy Spirit who cannot be predicted or stopped. Raise altars of prevailing prayer like the one in Topeka in 1901. Let the South Wind blow once more — bringing refreshing, conviction, power, and a new Great Awakening to America.

We repent for the sins defiling the land, including the legalization of same-sex marriage and the shedding of innocent blood. In 2010, Kansas had approximately 4,009 same-sex couple households. In recent years, Kansas has reported around 19,000 abortions annually (with many coming from out-of-state), averaging dozens per day. We cry out for mercy and turnaround.

Spiritual Warfare Over Kansas

Arise, Kansas — Carry the South Wind! The Revolution is Spiritual!

In the name of Jesus, according to Jeremiah 1:10, we now uproot, break down, throw down, and destroy every evil worship system operating in Kansas and across America.

We come against the veil that has covered the eyes of people, leaders, and the Church (Isaiah 25:7–8). We dethrone every false god ruling over this state and the nation. We call for God's judgment upon them as in Exodus 12:12.

We dismantle all evil altars (Deuteronomy 7:1–5), confuse and spiritually slaughter the evil priesthood (1 Kings 18:40), destroy every evil sacrifice by the power of the blood of the Lamb, and declare all evil covenants null and void through the superior blood of Jesus (Hebrews 7:12).

We bind the strong man plundering Kansas, and forbid any return of these spirits as we plant and build a godly worship system in Kansas — from personal and family altars to church altars, school altars, city altars (especially Topeka and Wichita), and a statewide altar of unified prayer and Holy Spirit fire.

Prophetic Declarations over Kansas

  • Kansas, People of the South Wind — the Holy Spirit wind blows strongly through you again! You are unstoppable carriers of revival fire.
  • The Topeka Outpouring spirit is rekindled — another wave of Pentecost is released from your soil!
  • Abortion altars and same-sex marriage bondages are overturned. Innocent blood is cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
  • You are a pivot state — your spiritual direction shifts the nation toward God.
  • The Church in Kansas arises as wind-stirrers, prayer warriors, and reformers. The South Wind blows refreshing, conviction, and power!
  • Another Great Awakening sweeps through Kansas and ignites America. The spiritual Revolutionary War has begun!
  • We reset. We rebuild on the foundations of the Puritans and the early outpourings. We launch a spiritual Revolutionary War against abortion, sexual immorality, gender confusion, and every force that has held the nation captive.
  • The seventh month (May 13 – July 4) is our appointed time to stand in Your presence, capture the gate of deliverance and freedom (Deuteronomy 16:16).

Prayer for Kansas and America

Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You for this day as we lift up the state of Kansas in our 50 Days – 50 States Prayer Campaign. We bless You for the nation of America and specifically for Kansas — the Sunflower State, the People of the South Wind.

We pray for all people groups in Kansas: Native American tribes (especially the Kanza/Kaw people), European settlers' descendants, African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, immigrants, families, the young and the old, the church, and the unchurched. Let Your presence cover every county, city (Topeka, Wichita, Kansas City, Overland Park, Lawrence), town, school, home, and heart.

Kansas, enter into your Jubilee season — a time of automatic release, restoration, and return to your inheritance and destiny. Do not miss Your visitation in this hour of divine release. Raise up someone (or many) who will stand in the gap and pray without ceasing for Kansas. Let the state go back to her redemptive roots and break free from every spiritual bondage.

As the forefathers fought the Revolutionary War to liberate America from colonial rule, we pray that the Church in Kansas will launch a spiritual Revolutionary War against every dark force holding the land captive: abortion, same-sex marriage and related lifestyles, gender confusion, secular humanism, and the erosion of biblical morality.

Father, we thank You for everyone praying and fasting in this campaign — even those who are not able to fast long or pray many hours but have a heart to stand for the nation. Bless them, their families, their finances, and their ministries. Thank You for the grace to pray for a nation that has blessed the world for centuries with aid, relief, education, and the Gospel. Now it is our turn to bless America through prayer and sacrifice while national morality is at stake and God has been chased from schools and public life.

We thank You for the unique calling of Kansas as the People of the South Wind and the birthplace of the modern Pentecostal outpouring. We thank You for the Topeka fire of 1901 and for every prayer altar already burning in the state. We thank You for the grace to stand in the gap, for the burden You have placed on intercessors, and for the Jubilee release and visitation. We glorify You for the revival wind that is rising, the altars being rebuilt, and the spiritual revolution being launched. Thank You that Kansas will fulfill her destiny and help shift the nation back to You. Glory and honor belong to You alone!

Holy Spirit, we wait upon You. Speak any instructions, revelations, or corrections You desire. We are listening. Let Your South Wind blow freely over Kansas and America. In the mighty, matchless name of Jesus Christ — Amen and Amen!
