Every week we pray for specific items for the state and the USA, and this week for USA we are focusing on the sphere of family with the connections of last week's prayer item about idols. We come before the throne of grace with one accord, lifting up the families across this nation, that they may be restored according to God's divine order.
The Divine Order of Families According to the Bible
In Matthew 19:3–12, the Lord Jesus Christ affirms the sacred covenant of marriage: "Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, 'Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."
In Ephesians 5:22–33, we see the great mystery: Wives submit to their husbands as to the Lord, and husbands love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her. This is a profound mystery, marriage reflects Christ and the Church. The church is called the Bride of Christ because families are the foundation. Families were the first institution in the Bible (Genesis 2) and will be the last, Christ is coming back for His Bride!
Why Are Families Important in Building a Nation?
The foundation of the nation is the church or God, but the foundation of the church is the family. Strong families produce strong churches, which produce strong nations. The picture of families in the United States shows the state of the church.
What Has Killed Families in the USA?
The forces at work to kill families are divorce, the sexual revolution, widespread abortion, welfare systems that undermine two-parent homes, media promoting individualism and immorality, economic pressures, and the rise of secular humanism, all come from the 10-point charter program designed by Alice Bailey.
At the end of this week, among the things we want to see restored spiritually are families.
How Can Families Be Redeemed in the USA?
By denouncing the 10-point charter program of Alice Bailey, restoring the Judeo family structure, raising family altars, and raising the spirit of Elijah (Malachi 4:5–6). The closing verse of the Old Testament tells us what was coming and one of the major assignments of the New Testament.
Biblical and historical instances: The enemy has attacked families to disorganize God's plans, Gen 3:6, 15; 6:1–6; Ezra 9. God restored nations by restoring families, Gen 12:3; 18:18–19; 22:7.

The state of Michigan holds strategic identity as the Great Lakes State and Wolverine State, known for its pivotal role in industry, innovation, and waterways connecting the heart of America to the world.
What Does the Name Michigan Mean?
"Michigan" comes from the Algonquin word "Mishigamaw," meaning "big lake" or "great water," referring to Lake Michigan. Founded with French exploration in the 1600s–1700s and becoming a state in 1837 after the Toledo War, it was shaped by the Northwest Ordinance's emphasis on liberty, education, and opportunity. This ties to its destiny as a gateway of movement, industry (auto capital), and spiritual influence through its central waterways and hardworking people.
We can connect this with her prophetic destiny as a state positioned for revival to flow through the Great Lakes region, restoring godly order in families and influencing the nation economically and spiritually.
How Has Michigan Deviated from Its Founding?
From moral and religious liberty, family-based agrarian and industrial roots grounded in Judeo-Christian principles, it has shifted toward urbanization, secular policies especially in urban centers, and family breakdown.
How Did the Early Revivals Influence Michigan?
The Second Great Awakening powerfully shaped Michigan through camp meetings, frontier preaching, and moral reform, establishing strong Protestant roots, education, and anti-slavery sentiments that influenced the state's character.
Current Spiritual Atmosphere in Michigan
Michigan has seen a decline in Christian identification from about 70% in 2014 to 61% in 2024, with nones rising to nearly one in three (around 30%). Abortion remains legal and protected under state law with broad access. Same-sex marriage is legal and widely accepted. Secular humanism influences education, media, and urban policies. Leadership is predominantly liberal/Democratic under Governor Gretchen Whitmer (term-limited in 2026), with Democratic control leaning progressive. Leaders are priests in their fields, shaping laws that reflect their values.

Michigan has approximately 2.4% Muslim population (around 241,828 Muslims), ranking among the top 5 states nationally by percentage (5th in several recent estimates) and top 10 by raw numbers. Dearborn and the Detroit metro area have some of the highest concentrations of Muslims in the United States.
As the founding figures shaped the America of today, influential figures in politics, auto industry, and culture shape Michigan with a mix, some toward progressive policies and economic innovation, others pulling toward traditional values, though the overall direction in major centers leans secular and liberal.
Most Influential Festival in Michigan
The National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, held in July, is one of the most influential, drawing massive crowds with parades, music, and family events that celebrate the state's agricultural heritage. July signifies a period when spiritual portals and the womb are accessible. The church in Michigan should recognize this month as the altar's month.
What Is Discipling the Youth in Michigan Today?
Sports culture, social media, public education systems promoting secular humanism, and peer influences often disciple youth more than the church or family in many areas.
In the 50 days, 50 states, and 50 years, we are praying for Michigan to realign to God's purpose or destiny. We desire to build a prayer web connecting all the counties of the state of Michigan to form a state prayer web as the only way to tear down the veil covering the different people groups and the state. Revival does not come until the veil is torn.
What is the veil covering the different people groups in Michigan, the youth, and the entire state? Veils of secularism, materialism, generational wounds, and autonomy. Major idols in Michigan as a state for every people group and the youth: Sports/entertainment, economic self-reliance (auto and manufacturing culture), sexual idolatry, and identity confusion among youth.

Michigan, Land of Divine Flow and Catalytic Influence
I bless the Lord for you who have joined this 50 Days, 50 States prayer campaign for the destiny of Michigan and America. Today marks our 13th day as we lift up the state of Michigan.
Michigan, the Great Lakes State, is uniquely designed by God as state of "large water" or "great lake." This reflects its prophetic destiny as a land of divine flow, a vast reservoir of God's presence, a catalyst for spiritual acceleration, and a conduit of heavenly connections. Physically, Michigan features over 11,000 inland lakes plus its shores on four of the five Great Lakes, creating more freshwater shoreline than any other state. These waters symbolize how the glory and presence of God should cover Michigan and flow out to impact America and the nations, just as Habakkuk 2:14 declares: "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea."
The land's two peninsulas, connected by bridges across dividing waters, speak of unity and divine bridging between regions and people groups. Michigan's indigenous heritage, including the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi (part of the Council of Three Fires), reminds us of its deep roots. Its industrial legacy, birthplace of the Ford Motor Company founded by Henry Ford in 1903 in Detroit, shows catalytic influence: what began as a simple quadricycle evolved into a global force with vehicles in over 125 countries today. This mirrors the destiny of the Church in Michigan, to release accelerating, transformative influence that disciples nations, not merely fill buildings.
Michigan is home to nearly 10.1 million people (ranking among the top ten most populous states). Yet, like the nation, it faces spiritual bondages revealed through its laws and culture: abortion, sexual immorality, gender confusion, secular humanism, and the removal of God from public life. In 2023, Michigan reported 31,241 abortions, approximately 85 innocent lives ended every day. Same-sex marriages and related agendas further defile the land. Crime remains a challenge in major cities. These are not just statistics; they are signs that Michigan, like America, is ripe for revival or judgment.
As Jesus said, the sick need a physician (Mark 2:17), and where sin abounds, grace much more abounds (Romans 5:20). The law exposes sin, the same today, the laws in Michigan expose the sin in the USA, revealing a desperate need for revival and reformation (Romans 3:20; 7:7–13), revealing our desperate need for a Savior and a fresh outpouring of God's Spirit.

Just as the waters of the Jordan parted for Israel to enter their promised inheritance (Joshua 3), Michigan must cross over into its Jubilee season of release and restoration. As the early Church turned the world upside down through the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 17:6), so Michigan's Church is called to launch a spiritual revolution.
America's forefathers fought the Revolutionary War to break free from colonial bondage and establish liberty. In the same spirit, Michigan must arise and wage a spiritual Revolutionary War against every demonic stronghold, abortion, sexual perversion, idolatry, and division, to reclaim its godly inheritance.
Current example: In recent years, Michigan has seen renewed population growth and economic stirrings, yet the spiritual battle intensifies with ongoing abortion numbers and cultural shifts. This is Michigan's visitation moment, do not miss it! The Church must stand in the gap (Ezekiel 22:30) and fill the land with God's presence as waters cover its lakes and rivers.

Corporate Prayer Over Michigan
Heavenly Father, we thank You for designing Michigan as a land of divine flow and catalytic influence. Forgive us for the innocent blood shed daily through abortion, 31,241 lives in 2023 alone, crying out like Abel's blood (Genesis 4:10). Forgive the defilement of same-sex marriage, gender confusion, secular humanism, and every abomination that has polluted the land.
Lord, as the Great Lakes and thousands of inland waters cover Michigan, let Your glory and presence flood this state and flow outward to disciple the nation and the world. Release divine connections and acceleration through Your Church.
We repent on behalf of Michigan and America. We reset and rebuild on the foundations of the Puritans and our biblical heritage.
Spiritual Warfare
In the mighty name of Jesus, we uproot, tear down, destroy, and overthrow every demonic altar, evil covenant, and spiritual bondage over Michigan and America. We dismantle the altars of abortion, sexual immorality, and idolatry. We confuse and overthrow every evil priesthood and system empowering wickedness (1 Kings 18:40). By the blood of the Lamb, we nullify every evil sacrifice and covenant. We remove the veil covering Michigan and the nation (Isaiah 25:7–8). We dethrone every false god and declare God's judgment over them (Exodus 12:12).
We bind the strongman and plunder his house. We command every river of innocent blood, sewage of sin, and flow of abomination to dry up now. We loose the rivers of God's presence, revival, and righteousness to flow freely from Michigan to the nation and beyond.
