We examine family status, spiritual atmospheres, historical roots, and prophetic destinies, grounding everything in current data, history, and biblical truth. Psalms 11:3 asks, "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"—a fitting question for broken family and societal foundations.

Current Family Status in Minnesota Compared to America's Founding

At America's founding, families formed the bedrock—strong nuclear units rooted in biblical marriage (one man, one woman, Genesis 2:24), high fertility, low divorce, and intergenerational faith transmission. Pioneers emphasized covenantal marriage, child-rearing as stewardship, and moral formation. Divorce was rare; abortion and same-sex marriage were unthinkable legally and culturally. Families built communities with shared Protestant ethics.

Today in Minnesota, families face erosion. The state's divorce rate aligns with national trends around 2.4 per 1,000 population (U.S. overall), though Midwestern states like Minnesota tend lower in refined rates. Discipling the African American: Historically, the Black Church has been central—preaching, community support, and gospel resilience. Today, it continues amid secular pressures, with many turning to vibrant Pentecostal and evangelical expressions.

Bondages and Idols

Bondages: Legacy of slavery, systemic racism, family breakdown, economic disparities, higher rates of single-parent households, substance abuse, incarceration, and spiritual strongholds like bitterness or syncretism. Modern issues include identity struggles and cultural influences pulling from biblical roots.

Different Tribes of the African Americans in the USA

Primarily descendants of West and Central African ethnic groups (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Akan influences) brought via transatlantic slave trade; modern diversity includes African immigrants (Somali, Ethiopian in Minnesota) and Caribbean roots. Not "tribes" like Native groups but rich ethnic heritage.

African Time Has Come Back: A Prophetic Call for African Americans to Reconnect with Their Roots in Africa

African time has come back. A call to African Americans to come back to connect with their roots in Africa in the Africa Altar. The Africa Altar is held every year in the first week of September in Kampala, Uganda. The Africa Altar gathers African nations together in Kampala to lay strategically pray to fulfill the prophetic mandate upon Africa together (Isaiah 18; 19:19–25). Africans are midwives for nations to birth their destinies.

The Prophetic Mandate: Expounding Isaiah 18 and Isaiah 19:19–25

Isaiah 18 delivers an oracle concerning Cush — the ancient kingdom south of Egypt, encompassing regions of modern-day Sudan, Ethiopia, DRC and Uganda. The chapter describes a land "shadowed with buzzing wings, beyond the rivers of Cush," a powerful nation sending ambassadors. It signals God's attention to Africa as a key player in end-time purposes — not peripheral, but central to His redemptive plan.

The Altar in the Middle of Africa

This is not a minor footnote. God declares an altar — a place of sacrifice, worship, and encounter — right in the heart of Africa (symbolized by Egypt, the ancient power). Kampala, Uganda, geographically near the center of the African continent, becomes a strategic fulfillment point. This altar stands as a witness against oppression and for deliverance. It calls for repentance, restoration of true worship, and the tearing down of demonic altars that have held nations captive.

Africa to Build a Highway of Holiness

The "highway" (Hebrew mesillah — a raised, prepared road) connects Egypt (Africa), Assyria (representing ancient empires and broader Gentile nations), and Israel. This is not merely physical infrastructure but a spiritual highway of holiness, reconciliation, and free movement in the Spirit (Isaiah 35:8). It breaks cycles of enmity, enabling worship together. Africa plays a bridging role — healing divides between continents and peoples, facilitating end-time unity under the Lordship of Christ. This highway leads to an end-time harvest: multitudes from Africa and the diaspora streaming to God, bringing their glory into the Kingdom (Revelation 7:9; Isaiah 60).

Examples of Fulfillment and Birthing

• Historical: The Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8) — an African official encountering the Gospel and returning home — was an early seed of this highway.
• Modern: Waves of African revival (e.g., Uganda's own history of martyrdom and renewal under Idi Amin, or the East African Revival) have sent missionaries globally. African churches today plant vibrant congregations in Europe and America, reversing missionary flows.
• Diaspora: African Americans returning through business, missions, or pilgrimage (e.g., visiting ancestral sites in Ghana, Nigeria, or attending gatherings in Uganda) mirror the "tribute" of Isaiah 18:7.

Africans as Midwives for Nations

Africans are midwives for nations to birth their destinies. Like a midwife assists in delivery — guiding, encouraging, cutting cords, and bringing forth life — Africa and her children (including the diaspora) help nations enter their God-ordained purposes. Through intercession at altars like Kampala, they release spiritual births: revival in America, reconciliation in divided lands, and harvest among unreached peoples. Practical examples include African intercessors praying for U.S. elections or European awakenings, and diaspora believers carrying fire back to ancestral lands.

Minnesota: Names, Uniqueness, Destiny, and History

Minnesota is called the North Star State (from motto L'Étoile du Nord), Gateway to Heaven (prophetic openness to spiritual moves), and Land of Living Waters (10,000+ lakes symbolizing Holy Spirit flow, John 7:38). Raise Minnesota as the north star for the next 50 years—guiding the nation in moral clarity and revival.

Uniqueness: 10,000+ lakes, Scandinavian heritage, progressive policies mixed with heartland roots. Unlike coastal states, it bridges Midwest values and innovation. Scriptures: Star for direction (Numbers 24:17); waters for revival (Ezekiel 47). Practical: Agricultural and tech hub with history of social reform.

Deviation from Founding: Founded on faith, hard work, and opportunity. Deviated through secular humanism, liberal policies on social issues, and complacency in spiritual matters.

Early Revivals: Minnesota earned a "Revival State" moniker with moves from 1860–1960, including Lutheran awakenings, Holiness revivals, and Pentecostal influences. Strong church foundations shaped culture.

Current Spiritual Atmosphere

Nones around 28–30% nationally, similar or higher in Minnesota's urban areas. Anti-biblical laws on abortion (permissive), same-sex marriage (legal since 2013), and secular humanism rising. Religions: Christian majority (Protestant/Catholic, strong Lutheran heritage) but declining; nones growing.

Minnesota's Role: Minimal direct role in Revolutionary War (pre-statehood territory). Same role today: Spiritual "second revolution" as North Star guiding against captivity — intercession, revival gateway for the nation.

Minnesota, your very name reveals your identity and destiny. Derived from a Dakota word meaning "sky-tinted water," "cloudy water," or "water that reflects the sky," your name points to heaven. You are known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes (with over 11,000 lakes of significant size) and the North Star State. Your motto is "L'Étoile du Nord" — "The Star of the North." Everything about you — your waters, clouds, and guiding star — speaks of the heavens and the firmament.

In Genesis 1:6–7, God created the expanse to separate the waters below from the waters above. Water covers much of the earth, fills our bodies, and fills the atmosphere. During Noah's flood, waters came from both below and above. Minnesota's vast lakes reflect the sky, showing that you are a spiritual portal, a gateway to heaven, and a place where heaven can touch earth.

As the waters cover your land, so you are called to cover the nation with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as Habakkuk 2:14 declares. Minnesota, you are a well of living water. You are called to re-dig the spiritual wells of America (Genesis 26), release living water that quenches spiritual thirst (John 4), and lead people into repentance and purification (Matthew 3:2, 4:17).

You are the North Star — a guiding light in darkness. Before modern navigation, the North Star (Polaris) provided direction and kept travelers from getting lost. In these confusing times, when a generation stands at the crossroads — where evil is called good and good is called evil (Isaiah 5:20) — Minnesota, you are called to provide clarity, direction, and godly guidance. Without wise leadership and vision, people perish (Proverbs 11:14; 29:18). You are to be a spiritual beacon, pointing the nation back to the true North: the Word of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Just as the star guided the wise men to the newborn King (Matthew 2:1–12), Minnesota, you are called to guide America and the nations back to Christ. You are spiritual warriors called to open heavens, contend in the spiritual realm (Ephesians 6:10–12; Daniel 10), tear down principalities, and release encounters with God. You are a hospitality hub — not just for scenic beauty, but for people to come and experience the presence and power of God.
