The Granite State · Live Free or Die · State Scripture: Phil 1:21

"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." — Philippians 1:21

May 16, 2026 · Year 4 (2030) · Day 4 of 50 · Declaring 2026 & 2030 as the Acceptable Year of the Lord

Live Free or Die motto from Revolutionary spirit. Granite State resilience. Today, political swing tensions and libertarian extremes. Deliver from self-reliance without God and gambling/economic snares. Raise New Hampshire as a freedom bell ringer for the spirit of martyrdom that is needed in the spiritual revolutionary war we are launching in these 50 days.

"Live Free or Die" was more than a motto — it was a cry of conscience forged in revival soil. Current moral confusion and economic uncertainty threaten that liberty. We consecrate New Hampshire's residents: break personal chains of self-reliance without God. Restore the spirit of liberty that flows from the year of Jubilee. Why is New Hampshire among the least churched states? High levels of abortion and other liberal laws persist. We pray for the spirit of selflessness — which has died in the US — to be resurrected in New Hampshire and flow across the nation.

Purpose of the 5-Chapter Bible Reading

  • Fortify against high powers and idols (we confront principalities).
  • Saturate with the Spirit and life of God (John 6:63).
  • Overcome as Jesus did — by the Word (Matthew 4:2–11; Revelation 12:11).
  • Be purified (John 15:3).
  • Make Bible intake our generational culture and weapon (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:11, 105; Hebrews 4:12).
  • Keep the altar fire burning — the Word is the firewood.

Weekly Focuses — Aligned with Exodus 5–12 and Jubilee Preparation

Week 1 (May 13–20): Deal with small gods/idols in personal, family, and church life. Revive personal altars. Consecrate yourself (Exodus 12:3–11). National dedication.

Idols According to the Bible (Especially Ezekiel 14:4–6) and Timothy Keller

The Bible is crystal clear that idolatry is far deeper than statues, portraits of the Virgin Mary, or visible objects like the moon. The most dangerous idols are the ones we set up in our hearts. Ezekiel 14:4–6 addresses elders who came to the prophet seeking God's word while secretly harboring idols in their hearts:

Ezekiel 14:4–6 · NIV
"Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: When any of the Israelites set up idols in their hearts and put a wicked stumbling block before their faces and then go to a prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself in keeping with their great idolatry. I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.' Therefore say to the people of Israel, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!'"

God is saying: "You can come to Me outwardly, but if your heart is divided — loyal to something else first — I will answer you according to the idol you love more. Repent and turn your hearts back to Me alone." This is heart-idolatry: anything we love, trust, or fear more than God. It competes with Him for our ultimate loyalty, security, meaning, or identity.

Timothy Keller, in his book Counterfeit Gods, gives one of the clearest modern explanations (echoing the Bible perfectly):

  • "An idol is anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, anything you seek to give you what only God can give."
  • "A counterfeit god is anything so central and essential to your life that, should you lose it, your life would feel hardly worth living."
  • Idols are usually good things (family, success, comfort, approval) that we turn into ultimate things. They promise what only God can deliver — identity, security, meaning, happiness.

Keller stresses that the heart is an "idol factory." We don't just bow to stone; we functionally worship created things — money, romance, power, even family or church success — by making them the center of our emotions, decisions, and hopes. Loving a spouse more than God is exactly the kind Keller and Scripture warn against. It's subtle, respectable, and therefore one of the most dangerous idols because it feels "good."

  • Look at how you spend your time, money, prayers, and purpose.
  • What gets the majority of your time and money? That reveals what you truly love and worship.
  • If God gets the leftovers while something else gets the best hours, dollars, thoughts, or energy — that thing has become an idol.

This is straight from Scripture (Matthew 6:21 — "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"; Colossians 3:5 — greed is idolatry). Now let's look at real examples and statistics of these heart-idols in Americans, families, and churches today. These are not judgments — just data that can help us repent and revive our altars as this week's focus calls for.

Examples and Statistics of Heart-Idols in Americans, Families, and Churches

In the Hearts of Americans (Broad Culture)

The #1 idol for many is family itself or personal comfort/security. A 2025 Gallup-Aspen survey found 49% of Americans say family is their most important value (far above freedom at 30%). Among Christians in a Pew study, 42% said family is the primary source of meaning in their lives — higher than the 29% who said religion/faith is. Family provided "a great deal" of meaning for 76% of Christians, while religion did for only 52%. In other words, for many, family functionally functions as god.

Time and money reveal the rest:

2.5 hrs
Average American watching TV daily — vs 2.4 minutes in personal prayer/worship
49 hrs
Digital media per week vs ~2 hours on Scripture, Bible study, or prayer
58% → 49%
Americans rating religion "extremely/very important" over two decades — declining

These are heart-idols of entertainment, self, and comfort — things that absorb our imagination more than God.

In Families

Family is a good gift from God (Psalm 127:3–5), but it easily becomes an idol when we love spouse or children more than the Lord. Parents often idolize kids' success, happiness, or approval — pouring money into sports, vacations, or activities while claiming "no time/money" for church, missions, or family devotions. Surveys show families eat dinner together (76%) and do chores (59%), but only 30% go to church together weekly.

When family displaces God, it leads to the very heartbreak Keller warns about: if the idol fails — a wayward child, marital strain, empty nest — life feels "hardly worth living." Many Christian families functionally worship the "perfect family image" rather than Christ.

In Churches

A major 2022 Lifeway Research survey of U.S. Protestant pastors revealed the idols they see dominating their own congregations. When asked which had the most sway, comfort (30%), control/security (20%), and money (13%) topped the list. Younger pastors especially noted political power and control as rising idols.

67%
Pastors say Comfort has significant influence in their congregation
56%
Pastors cite Control/Security as a dominant idol
55%
Pastors cite Money as a dominant idol
51%
Pastors cite Approval as a dominant idol
Only 5%
Americans regularly tithe 10% — 80% give just 2% or less
2.5–4.35%
Average church giving as % of income — lower than during the Great Depression

Churches can also idolize "bigness," entertainment, or doctrinal correctness over Jesus Himself — good things turned ultimate.

This week's focus is timely and prophetic. Dealing with these "small gods" in personal, family, and church life is exactly what Ezekiel called for: Repent! Turn from your idols. Revive your personal altar — that daily secret place of prayer and Word. Consecrate yourself as in Exodus 12:3–11 — set apart, blood on the doorposts, ready for deliverance. As you do this personally, it will ripple into your family and church.

Use the time/money/prayer test daily this week. Ask: "Lord, show me any idol I love more than You." He is faithful to reveal and deliver. A consecrated people who have torn down heart-idols will be ready to stand to redeem their people groups, state, and the nation.

The Third Condition of Revival: Prayer

We continue our series on the conditions for revival in 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Today we focus on the third principle: Prayer. No true revival has ever occurred without fervent, persistent, believing prayer. Prayer is the spiritual engine that moves the spiritual realm. Everything in the natural begins in the spiritual realm — without prayer, we cannot shift atmospheres, break strongholds, or see God's power poured out.

What Kind of Prayer Brings Revival?

Revival prayer is not casual or routine. It is fervent, persistent, Kingdom-focused, and often costly. Here are powerful biblical and historical examples:

Elijah · James 5:17–18; 1 Kings 18

Prayed earnestly for three years and six months with no rain, then called down fire from heaven on Mount Carmel. His prayers were bold, faith-filled confrontations with idolatry.

John Knox · Scottish Reformer

"Give me Scotland, or I die!" Queen Mary of Scots feared his prayers more than all the armies of Europe. He interceded relentlessly until revival and reformation swept Scotland.

Jesus · Hebrews 5:7–9; Luke 22:40–43

Our perfect example: He prayed with loud cries and tears, in the wilderness for extended times, and in Gethsemane with sweat like drops of blood. His prayers were submissive, passionate, and aligned with the Father's will.

Moses · Deuteronomy 9:18, 25

Interceded for 40 days and nights on behalf of rebellious Israel.

The Apostles · Acts 1:14; 2:1–4

Continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, leading to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

George Whitefield

Spent hours in secret prayer, often rising early and crying out for humility, zeal, and God's glory.

Jonathan Edwards

He and his congregation saw revival after nights of united prayer.

Charles Finney

Emphasized prayer that produced deep conviction of sin and expected immediate results from God.

Evan Roberts · Welsh Revival 1904

Prayed for hours daily, sometimes until physical manifestations of God's presence appeared.

John Hyde · "Praying Hyde"

Prayed so intensely that his heart physically shifted in his chest; he labored in prayer for souls until revival came.

These men prayed not just casually, but with groanings, tears, fasting, and unwavering faith. They prayed until something shifted in the spiritual realm.

The Wrong Kinds of Prayer

Self-centered prayers, political prayers, "popcorn" prayers (short, sporadic, and shallow), prayers of mere agreement without faith, or selfish requests will not birth revival. These keep the focus on us rather than God's glory and Kingdom advance. True revival prayer is Kingdom-minded — seeking God's face, His will, the salvation of souls, the purity of the Church, and the transformation of nations.

Personal Reflection Questions

  • How are you praying? Is it fervent and persistent, or routine and distracted?
  • What are you praying for? Are your prayers self-focused or aligned with God's heart for revival, holiness, and harvest?
  • In these 50 days, 50 states, and 50 years — will you allow the Lord to stretch you in prayer? Will you go deeper, longer, and more sacrificially?

A Call to Action

Beloved, let us commit to the kind of prayer that invites heaven to earth. Gather with others in united, fervent prayer. Pray in your closet with tears if necessary. Pray the promises of God. Pray for the lost, for the Church, for your city and nation.

As we humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from wickedness, God has promised to hear, forgive, and heal. Revival is possible — but it starts on our knees.

Lord, give us a spirit of prayer like Elijah, Knox, and Jesus. Stretch us in these 50 days. Ignite revival fire through our prayers.

Day 4 · New Hampshire Prayer Declaration

Praying for the State of New Hampshire

Prayer for New Hampshire

Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come before Your throne with boldness and humility, lifting up the state of New Hampshire — the Granite State, whose motto "Live Free or Die" echoes through history as a prophetic declaration of unyielding resolve. We thank You for the uniqueness You have embedded in this land: its rugged granite formations that have built enduring structures across America, its dense forests that supplied timber for a growing nation, its pioneering spirit that made it the first state to declare independence from colonial rule, the birthplace of the first alarm clock in America, the site of the first women's strike in the U.S., and the home of the first free, tax-supported library. These are not mere historical footnotes but seeds of destiny You planted for such a time as this.

Lord, we pray for all people groups in New Hampshire — native sons and daughters, families, young and old, the church, the unchurched, immigrants, and every ethnicity. May Your presence cover every county, city (Concord, Manchester, Laconia, Dover, and beyond), town, village, school, home, and heart. Enter New Hampshire into her Jubilee season of automatic release and restoration. Let debt of sin be canceled, spiritual captives be set free, and inheritance be reclaimed.

Raise up someone — or many — who will stand in the gap and pray without ceasing for New Hampshire. Do not let her miss Your visitation in this hour. Awaken the spirit of "Live Free or Die" not as mere political slogan, but as a spiritual mandate: to live free in Christ or die to self for His glory. Connect this motto to Philippians 1:21 — "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." Let the church in New Hampshire capture this spirit fully. Let believers become true witnesses (martyrs in the New Testament sense), willing to forfeit comfort, reputation, livelihood, or even life itself for the sake of the Kingdom, just as Stephen did, just as Apostle Paul carried, and just as General John Stark embodied when he declared, "Live free or die: Death is not the worst of evils in New England."

New Hampshire, return to your inheritance and destiny! Break free from every spiritual bondage: the spirit of least-churched indifference, the normalization of abortion (which has claimed thousands of lives in recent years), the high rates of same-sex marriages and related lifestyles, progressive and liberal laws promoting gender confusion, transgender ideologies, and secular humanism that erode biblical truth and national morality. Let the church arise with holy discontent, tired of the status quo, just as the forefathers grew weary of colonial bondage and launched the Revolutionary War that helped birth a free America.

Ignite a spiritual Revolutionary War in New Hampshire against every dark force holding the state captive. As the Puritans laid spiritual foundations and men like John Stark fought politically, let the church now fight spiritually — raising heroes of faith, Nehemiahs who rebuild broken walls, and John Knoxes who cry, "Give me New Hampshire for Your Kingdom, or I die!" Train up children in the way they should go (Deuteronomy 6; Proverbs 22:6), teaching them the vision of their state: You are Granite — strong, enduring, a building material for the Kingdom. You supply timber for spiritual structures. Raise living sacrifices (Romans 12:1–2) who break comfort zones and offer everything on the altar.

We pray against the visions of division: tearing of the map, cracks from the north, drifts that could fracture the Union like the USSR's collapse. Protect America's unity and destiny as a nation of nations, a spiritual hub. Thwart every plan of the enemy — through foreign powers, electromagnetic pulses, or internal rebellion — to weaken or divide the states. Especially guard the spiritual and economic strength of this land. Let New Hampshire lead in preserving what the forefathers fought for.

Lord, stir the church to preach the full Gospel of the Kingdom — not just salvation, but the culture of heaven invading every mountain of society: family, education, governance, media, arts, business, and religion. Disciple New Hampshire and America as the LGBTQ+ agenda and secular forces have attempted to do. Let the church take territory through influence, prayer, and bold witness. Raise missionaries of fire from New Hampshire who risk everything to oppose evil laws, call people out of slumber, and spark another Great Awakening.

Spiritual Warfare

Uprooting & Dismantling

In the name of Jesus, we now engage in spiritual warfare: We uproot, break down, throw down, and destroy every evil worship system, demonic altar, and ungodly stronghold in New Hampshire and across America. We come against the veil that covers the eyes of people and leaders (Isaiah 25:7–8). We dethrone every false god and principality ruling over this state — spirits of abortion, sexual perversion, gender confusion, idolatry, apathy, legalism, and division. We call for God's judgment upon them as in Exodus 12:12. We dismantle all evil altars (Deuteronomy 7:1–5), confuse and spiritually slaughter the evil priesthood operating in hidden and open places (1 Kings 18:40), destroy every evil sacrifice by the power of the blood of the Lamb, and declare every evil covenant null and void through the superior covenant in Christ (Hebrews 7:12).

We bind the strong man, plunder his house, and cast out every unclean spirit. We forbid any return or worse replacement.

Planting and Building

Now we plant and build in the name of Jesus:

  • A godly worship system that covers New Hampshire from personal altars to family altars, school and institutional altars, church altars, village/town altars, county/city altars (including Laconia, Manchester, Concord), and a statewide altar of unified prayer and presence.
  • A culture of heaven that disciples every person and creation in the state — mountains, forests, granite, soil, and people.
  • Altars of prevailing, travailing prayer where believers cry out like Rachel ("Give me children or I die"), like Paul in Athens (spirit stirred by idolatry), like John Knox ("Give me Scotland or I die"), and like Nehemiah who saw the distress and mobilized to rebuild.
  • A new generation of spiritual revolutionaries, martyrs/witnesses, Nehemiahs, Esthers, and John Starks who carry the spirit of "Live Free or Die" for Christ — ready to die to self, risk all, and see revival sweep the land.
  • Unity among the churches, a fresh mantle of martyrdom and witnessing (Acts 1:8), and the raising of prayer altars that link together to cover every part of New Hampshire.

Prophetic Declarations Over New Hampshire

  • New Hampshire, you are the Granite State — unbreakable in righteousness, a building block for God's Kingdom in America!
  • "Live Free or Die" shall manifest spiritually: You will live free in Christ or die to self for His glory. No more bondage!
  • The spirit of martyrdom and witnessing shall arise and eat up every heart. A voice of the martyrs shall sound from your borders.
  • You shall lead in spiritual revolution. Another Great Awakening shall begin or be fueled from your soil.
  • Abortion, same-sex marriage laws, gender confusion, and every progressive bondage shall be overturned as the church rises as priests of the land.
  • Your children shall know who they are — carriers of destiny, not confused or mediocre.
  • America shall not fracture; unity shall hold, and New Hampshire shall contribute granite-strong foundations to preserve it.
  • The Gospel of the Kingdom shall disciple New Hampshire fully. Heaven's culture shall invade every mountain!

Prayer of Thanksgiving

We Give Thanks

Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We thank You for the unique calling and redemptive gifts upon New Hampshire — the pioneering spirit, the strength of granite, the resolve of "Live Free or Die." We thank You for the forefathers' legacy and for the greater spiritual legacy You are awakening. We thank You for the Ugandan intercessors and all who stand in the gap as midwives for nations. We glorify You for the Jubilee release, the coming revival, the rebuilt walls, and the raised army of spiritual revolutionaries. Thank You that help comes from anywhere — even from Africa — if needed, but we believe America and New Hampshire will rise. We honor You for the destiny that shall be fulfilled. Glory to Your name!

We wait upon You, Lord. Holy Spirit, speak instructions, revelations, or corrections as You will. We are listening. Let Your fire fall. Let Your Kingdom come in New Hampshire and America as it is in heaven.

In the mighty, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior — Amen and Amen!

New Hampshire, arise! The Granite State shall stand strong for the Kingdom. Live free in Christ — or die to self for His glory. The revolution is spiritual, and victory is the Lord's.
