I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. — "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." Maryland, your assignment is clear: you are called to disciple nations and fish souls back into the Kingdom. You are an evangelistic state.
Maryland, your very name reveals your identity. You were named after Queen Henrietta Maria, the wife of King Charles I of England. "Mary" speaks of the beloved, the favored one. In Scripture, Mary was the vessel chosen to birth the Savior. Likewise, Maryland, you are a womb — a mothering state called to birth revival, intercession, and godly government. You are not just any land; you are a land dedicated to birthing spiritual life, just as a woman's womb carries and releases destiny.
You are also a gate — physically bordering Washington, D.C., and spiritually a regulator of what enters the heart of the nation. As gatekeepers in the Bible stood watch over the temple (1 Chronicles 9:22–27), you regulate what flows in and out of the capital and the nation. You are a spiritual thermostat. Maryland, you are "America in Miniature" — a nickname given because your geography mirrors the entire nation: mountains, plains, coastline, and four seasons. What happens in you reflects what happens across America.
Raising the 12 — Teams in Every Sphere, County, State, Nation, and Continent
Every week in this 50 Days, 50 States, 50 Years campaign, we lift targeted prayers for America as a whole, for a chosen state, and a dedicated year within the coming 50 years alignment. Revival and reformation do not arrive as sudden miracles; they unfold through deliberate strategy. God moves where He is welcomed and prepared, which calls us not only to intercede but to take concrete actions that embody our petitions (Matthew 3:8).
The "Raising the 12" initiative serves as a symbolic code for Jesus' discipleship model. It summons a new priesthood of believers willing to be trained in God's present activity (John 5:17, 19), to stand in the gap for this hour (Ezekiel 22:30), to network remnants, embrace new wineskins, and pursue a Nazarite consecration. Jesus shifted the priesthood from the Levitical order to the Melchizedek pattern. He bypassed the established religious elite (Pharisees and Sadducees) and rebuilt with ordinary fishermen — and that's exactly what He is doing right now in the USA. The coming revival and reformation across the USA and nations will be led by the nameless and seemingly insignificant in human eyes (1 Corinthians 1:25–27).
Hebrews 7:12 declares that a change in priesthood necessitates a change in law. Before Israel entered Canaan, Moses recruited and discipled a fresh force from every tribe (Numbers and Deuteronomy). Jesus chose 12, Abraham mobilized 318, and Moses worked with 70. Nations shift not by spectacles but by discipleship. We must therefore pray and then implement plans to disciple youth in schools and colleges and equip believers in every societal sphere within each state.

We repent of legalism, denominationalism, bureaucracy, and secular humanism that have replaced the move of the Holy Spirit with programs and man-made rules. We repent of violence, drugs, fatherlessness, and crime that have stolen destiny, especially in cities like Baltimore. We repent of the shedding of innocent blood through abortion and the ongoing debates around euthanasia. We close every door that gives the enemy blood sacrifices. We plead the blood of Jesus that cleanses and restores.
In the name of Jesus, according to Jeremiah 1:10, we uproot, pull down, destroy, and throw down every evil stronghold, altar, and ungodly covenant in Maryland and the United States. We come against every veil covering this state — spirits of political corruption, Babylon's shadow, control and compromise near the national power centers, secular humanism, and family destruction.
We bind the strongman over Maryland (Matthew 12:29). We bind the spirits of abortion (Molech), sexual immorality, political idolatry, and lukewarmness. We declare the "Maryland Line" anointing returns — holding the line in the Spirit, delaying enemy advance, enabling greater victories for the nation. And the greatest way to disciple her is through strategic prayer, because everything begins in the spirit.
Lord, give us deeper revelation of Maryland and of this nation. We pray in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Maryland, you were one of the first states to help lay the foundation of America. You are part of the original 13 colonies that birthed this nation. Just as the foundation determines the strength of a building, so these early states hold keys to America's destiny. That is why our prayers and fasting are not for problems but for destiny.
Every nation, every state, every individual has a destiny written by God before the foundation of the world (Psalm 139:15–16). Before the first settler arrived, before the boundaries were drawn, God designed this land with an assignment. He brought people from every race and tribe not by accident, but to fulfill His purposes on this soil. This diversity is proof of a higher destiny.

We raise you up in the spirit. We call forth the next Great Awakening from your soil. We bless you, Maryland. We bless the United States of America. We stand on the walls as watchmen and midwives, declaring that America will return to her original covenant with God and fulfill her destiny as a light to the nations.
