Land of Lincoln, Chicago global city, and prairie roots. Today political machines and urban violence. We consecrate the state of Illinois: repent of corruption and Baal altars in governance. Break state and systemic strongholds. Restore Illinois as a Midwest crossroads of righteous leadership for the next 50 years.
The 50 Days, 50 States, 50 Years Prayer and Fasting Campaign
The 50 Days 50 States 50 Years Prayer and Fasting Campaign is to focus on the destinies of the different people groups, the state, and the corporate destiny of America. The first step into the journey of destiny, whether for your life, family, tribe, or nation, is to know your identity in God — because we are in His image and likeness, we are His body (Isaiah 51:1; Acts 17:28), and He is the Author of Nations (Acts 17:26; Gen 10:32). Through prayer (revelation of the Holy Spirit — Luke 2:26), Scriptures, your history, and your name, you can fully understand your calling and destiny or God's purposes upon you or your nation (Psalm 139:14–17).
Every people group and state in America has their own bondages and destiny — remember, a destiny is either manipulated or fulfilled. The bondages have to be broken upon every people group and state and the entire nation; then the journey of destiny is set in play as it was with the children of Israel before starting their journey to Canaan. God calls us the way we are but does not use us the way we are; He calls the foolish things of the world but does not use fools. He calls the weak, but He does not use the weak (1 Corinthians 1:26–27; Acts 1:8).
People Groups, Bondages, Gifts, and Destinies in America
| People Group | Key Bondages | Gifts & Strengths | Prophetic Destiny |
|---|---|---|---|
| Native Americans | Historical displacement, broken covenants, witchcraft, generational trauma | Deep spiritual connection to land, resilience, crafts, stewardship | Restoration of covenantal authority, healing of the land |
| African Americans | Legacy of slavery, systemic injustice, identity fragmentation, drugs, witchcraft, poverty mentality | Creative excellence, endurance, prophetic worship and intercession | Leading national revival, justice movements, family restoration and travailing intercession |
| European Americans | Materialism, spiritual complacency, colonial guilt, legalism | Innovation, governance structures, pioneering spirit | Releasing Kingdom blueprints for society, economy, and governance |
| Hispanic/Latino Americans | Immigration struggles, family fragmentation | Strong family values, entrepreneurial drive, passionate faith | Bridge-building between nations, multiplication of the Gospel |
| Asian Americans | Model minority pressure, cultural idolatry, isolation | Academic excellence, discipline, technological innovation | Wisdom and strategy for national advancement |
| Other Immigrant Groups | Cultural assimilation loss, economic marginalization | Diverse skill sets, work ethic, global connectivity | Enriching the melting pot with Kingdom culture |
The first thing about the corporate destiny of the USA is that it is a nation of nations — a melting pot. To weaken the USA is to make states break off as it was with the USSR. The United States of America is a country composed of many nations. Why did God design America like this — a nation of nations? America is a multiplier; an influencer; has the kingly anointing; and is a nation of nations. This is what we want to redeem because a destiny is either manipulated or fulfilled.
Most superpowers do not go beyond 250 years. Now where is America going after 2026? Does the church have a plan for the next 50 years of this nation? Which foundations are we setting for the next 50 years?
This 50 Days, 50 States, 50 Years Prayer and Fasting Campaign calls the Body of Christ to arise in strategic intercession, breaking every bondage, redeeming every destiny, and aligning the United States of America with her divine calling as a nation of nations under God. Through revelation, repentance, and unified prayer, we step boldly into the next fifty years with foundations rooted in eternity. Today we are praying for the state of Illinois.
Illinois — "The People" Rising as Warriors
Most of us normally know this state according to the city of Chicago. Whatever affects America affects the world and affects all of us, because America still carries the kingly mantle of influencing other nations. In every generation, God raises a superpower to influence other nations. Right now, it is America. If we do not pray for this nation, it will influence us wickedly instead of influencing nations in righteousness.
The name Illinois originates from the Illinois Native American tribes, specifically the Illiniwek (Illinois Confederation). The word "Illinois" comes from the Native term often rendered as "Illiniwek," meaning "the people," "men," or "warriors" — sometimes interpreted as "best people" or those who speak in the ordinary way. French explorers learned the name through the Ojibwe and adapted it.
This points to a destiny of ordinary people rising as warriors in God's Kingdom — ordinary men and women who become extraordinary instruments in God's hands, much like the disciples Jesus called. Biblically, this echoes 1 Corinthians 1:26–29: God chooses the ordinary, the weak, and the despised to shame the strong and wise, so that no one may boast before Him.
Historically, the vast prairie lands of Illinois (nicknamed the Prairie State) symbolize open harvest fields ready for revival, as Jesus declared in Matthew 9:37–38: "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
Illinois, you are a training ground for the end-time army. You are like the cave of Adullam — where the distressed, the indebted, and the discontented gathered around David, and he became their captain. God is assembling His army from Illinois.
The state motto, "State Sovereignty, National Union," speaks of balanced authority under God — recognizing both local responsibility and national unity in righteousness, a call for the church to stand firm in truth while pursuing oneness in Christ (Ephesians 4:3).
Illinois became a state in 1818 and is known as the Land of Lincoln because Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President, spent his formative years here and launched his political career from Illinois. Lincoln's legacy of emancipation and justice prophetically points to a destiny of spiritual freedom and deliverance from bondage — which is urgently needed at such a time as this, mirroring Exodus 3:7–10 where God raises deliverers to set captives free.
Leaders Born or Raised in Illinois
This state carries a profound leadership mantle — not only political but spiritual influence that reaches the nations and even the global church.
The Land of Lincoln. His legacy of emancipation and justice prophetically points to a destiny of spiritual freedom and deliverance from bondage for this generation.
Born in Tampico, Illinois. His presidency represented a turning point in American conservatism and the strength of moral conviction in governance.
Launched his political career from Illinois. His rise underscores the global influence mantle upon this state — what begins in Illinois reaches the world.
Chicago-born Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost was elected as the first American pope in 2025. This underscores a profound leadership mantle upon this state — spiritual influence that reaches the nations and the global church. In this campaign, we call forth the manifestation of the leadership mantle upon this state to be reactivated to lead the spiritual revolution.
What started small in this land has impacted the globe. McDonald's was founded in 1955 in Des Plaines, Illinois, and grew into a global leader. This illustrates the leadership and influence mantle upon Illinois — something that begins here can spread to the ends of the earth.
The Revival Heritage and the 100-Year Prophecy
The gospel history of this land shows it was impacted by the Second Great Awakening and frontier revivals in the early 19th century. Prominent figures include D.L. Moody, who began his ministry in Chicago in the 1850s — starting with a Sunday school for the poor that grew massively. Moody founded the Illinois Street Church (later The Moody Church) and Moody Bible Institute, which have trained thousands for global missions and evangelism.
During a powerful revival at Stone Church in Chicago that lasted about six months, Maria Woodworth-Etter and others prophesied a great end-time outpouring within 100 years that would far exceed anything previously seen — a latter rain greater than the former. This 100-year prophecy (building on the 1906 Azusa Street Revival) remains a standing word for Illinois and America: a mighty visitation to prepare the nations for the return of Christ.
Any word God gives to a spiritual or even political leader for a nation is not just for that generation. It belongs to us and our children forever (Deuteronomy 29:29). We must build on it, just as Isaac re-dug the wells of Abraham (Genesis 26:18), Jacob held to the promises given to Abraham, and Joshua reminded the new generation of Moses' words (Joshua 23:14). The entire book of Deuteronomy is a rehearsal of God's words to prepare the next generation to inherit the land. The words spoken through Moody, Woodworth-Etter, and others in Illinois still stand. We are called to re-dig these wells of spiritual revolutionary leadership in Illinois.
Illinois, you are called to re-dig the wells. What began here has shaken the globe. The greatest is still to come.
Day 11 · Illinois Prayer Guide · 1 Corinthians 1:26–29Demographics and Current Spiritual Environment
Demographically, Illinois is diverse. Non-Hispanic Whites make up about 58%, African Americans around 14%, Hispanics/Latinos about 19%, and Asians about 6–7% (total population around 12.7 million). Every people group has a redemptive gift to contribute: European Americans in structured governance and leadership; African Americans in worship, praise, prayer, and initiation; Hispanics/Latinos in generosity, prophetic insight, and healing; Asians in wisdom and strategy. We need all these gifts for the state to fulfill God's purposes.
The current spiritual environment is revealed in the laws and realities of the state. Laws are spiritual (Romans 7:14).
Illinois legalized same-sex marriage in 2013 (effective 2014), with roots in earlier activism including a 1975 sit-in and hunger strike in Cook County. In 2024, nearly 35,000 out-of-state patients traveled to Illinois for abortions — about 39% of procedures in the state and 23% of all U.S. out-of-state abortions. This represents a massive shedding of innocent blood, alongside ongoing violence, especially in Chicago.
Yet 62% of adults in Illinois identify as Christian. This contradiction — high Christian identification alongside high bloodshed — calls for deep repentance and awakening. We are here not to judge or condemn, but to plead, to cry, and to stand in the gap.
Prayer for the State of Illinois
Corporate Prayer Over Illinois
Father, in the name of Jesus, we thank You and bless You, for You are a good God. Thank You for the state of Illinois and the nation of America. We are here not to judge or condemn, but to plead, to cry, and to stand in the gap. America still carries the kingly mantle and anointing over nations. Whatever affects them affects all of us. When doors like abortion and same-sex marriage were opened here, they became walkovers in other nations. That is why we stand in the gap.
We thank You for those who stood in their day and made the Kingdom of God manifest in Illinois — people like D.L. Moody and Maria Woodworth-Etter. We thank You for leaders who rose from this land: Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama, and now Pope Leo XIV from Chicago. There is a well of leadership and a well of revival here. There is a 100-year prophecy of a great outpouring that the world has never seen — one that will sweep America and other nations to prepare them for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
Father, in the name of Jesus, we cling to that word. Your word does not return to You void but accomplishes what You purpose (Isaiah 55:11). We cry out today. Though the land seems dry with much abortion, same-sex marriage, violence, and crime — much of it unreported in Chicago — we know You are merciful, gracious, and compassionate. We still have hope that America, Chicago, and Illinois can be redeemed.
In the name of Jesus, we cling to the words spoken by Maria Woodworth-Etter at Stone Church and the legacy of William Seymour at Azusa Street. We claim the prophecy of a mighty latter rain. As Isaac re-dug the wells of his father (Genesis 26:18) and gave them the same names, as Joshua reminded the people that not one good word from God had failed (Joshua 23:14), and as Deuteronomy rehearsed God's words for the new generation, we call the Church in Illinois to rise up, to re-dig these wells, and to build on what God has spoken.
We pray that the Church will open up to this 50-day campaign. We pray for a rising fire of prayer. The Church in Africa and Uganda will rise up and understand that we are the midwives, the last best wine. We are to stand in the gap so that nations birth their destinies and return to God's original plan.
We are preparing the land of Illinois in the name of Jesus to receive and resurrect this 100-year prophecy. As the Second Great Awakening swept and impacted Illinois, we pray for a Third Great Awakening in the land of Illinois. We pray for the wells of leadership to be re-dug again, to raise leaders who will lead revival movements in America and the nations.
Spiritual Warfare and Prophetic Declarations
According to Jeremiah 1:10, we uproot, break down, throw down, and destroy every evil work in Illinois and America, and then we plant and build. According to Matthew 12:29 and 43–44, we bind the strongman and ensure no return of unclean spirits. Jesus gave us power over every evil force (Mark 16:17–18). We come against every evil worship system, every veil covering the state, nation, and people groups (Isaiah 25:7–8). We dethrone the gods of this state and call for God's judgment over them (Exodus 12:12). We dismantle all evil altars (Deuteronomy 7:1–5), confuse and spiritually slaughter the evil priesthood (1 Kings 18:40), destroy all evil sacrifices by the blood of the Lamb, and declare all evil covenants null and void (Hebrews 7:12).
We Now Plant and Build a Godly Worship System in Illinois
- Illinois will fulfill its destiny as a land of "the people" who become warriors for God — ordinary men and women raised as deliverers!
- The Prairie State will see a great harvest as workers are sent into the fields (Matthew 9:37–38)!
- The wells of Moody and Woodworth-Etter are re-opened, and the 100-year prophecy is fulfilled with a mighty outpouring that exceeds all previous revivals!
- Leadership from Illinois will once again shape nations in righteousness — the mantle of Lincoln, Reagan, Obama, and Pope Leo XIV is reactivated for Kingdom purposes!
- The blood of Jesus cleanses the land from innocent blood, violence ceases, and the Church rises in purity and power!
- A Third Great Awakening sweeps Illinois and America, preparing the way for the return of the Lord!
- The Church in Illinois rises to re-dig the ancient wells — and what begins here once again spreads to the ends of the earth!
- Illinois, you are the cave of Adullam — the distressed are becoming an army! The ordinary are becoming extraordinary! The warriors of God are arising from the Prairie State!
Thanksgiving
We Give Thanks
Father, we thank You (Psalm 50:23) for hearing our prayers, for Your mercy that triumphs over judgment, and for the great destiny You have placed on Illinois. We thank You for the heritage of revival, leadership, and influence in this state. We thank You that Your word will not return void. We thank You that the best wine is being reserved and that Africa and the Church worldwide are rising as midwives. We thank You in advance for the Third Great Awakening, for the fulfillment of the 100-year prophecy, and for the redemption of Illinois and America. All glory, honor, and praise belong to You. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
We now wait upon the Lord for further instructions and anything He wants to speak to us concerning Illinois and the nation.
Illinois — Land of Lincoln, Land of Warriors. The Prairie State's harvest fields are ready. The wells of Moody and Woodworth-Etter are being re-dug. The 100-year prophecy is being fulfilled. Arise, ordinary men and women — become extraordinary instruments in God's hands.
