Arizona

Grand Canyon State · Valentine State · Copper State · Day 39 · Year 39 (2065)

"Ditat Deus" — God Enriches. Arizona, you are a covenanted state — a place of the small spring that will birth a revival flowing to the whole nation.

June 20, 2026 · Every Year · 50 Days · 50 States · 50 Years, Contending for the Destiny of Arizona and the USA

Grand Canyon State (spiritual portal), desert beauty (purifier/refiner state), and ancient Native roots mixed with frontier pioneer spirit. Copper, sun, and gateway to the Southwest (Conduit). All the other tribes are midwives to the natives in Arizona. Today rapid growth, border tensions, and water scarcity test its foundations.

We consecrate the state of Arizona, her people groups and the USA in this season of Jubilee and for the next 50 years, repent of division and self-reliance apart from God. We break generational strongholds of fear and resource idolatry and raise Arizona as a Southwestern prophetic gate of endurance, hospitality, and covenant strength for the next 50 years.

Praying for the Destiny of the State of Arizona

The destiny of the nation of America is embedded in the 50 states and in the different people groups which make up the nation of America. So, if you want to dig deeper, if you want to understand the nation of America and what God called this nation to do and to be, you have to dig deeper into the destiny of the different states and the different people groups who live in this nation of America.

You can't pray for a state or for the different people groups unless you understand them. For instance, with Arizona, you just can't pray for Arizona unless you have some basic information and background. This information will give you the burden. You remember Nehemiah chapter one, when the brother of Nehemiah came from Jerusalem to where Nehemiah was, and he told him what was happening in Jerusalem and how the walls of Jerusalem had been broken down and how the gates had been burned. Only this information gave Nehemiah a burden to fast and pray until he got a breakthrough. But if it wasn't for the information which he got from his brother, he possibly would have continued living the life which he was living.

So, understanding a state and understanding something which you are going to pray for is very crucial. As we are handling the state of Arizona, let me briefly share a few things about this state. I know you know other things and other information about this state, so please use that information plus what I am sharing with you to make a prayer out of it. If I can share something and God reveals to you an almost totally different revelation about this state, it is very possible. That is how rich the Word of God is. The Word of God is too rich.

The word or the name Arizona is believed to have come from the Spanish interpretation of the O'odham word "O'Dham," which means a small spring, little spring, or a place of the small spring. So, we can dig deeper into this. What happened? Why did the people call this state this name?

This state actually was one of the last, it could even be the last state to become a state. It became a state on February 14, 1912.

When we look again at this state, it is very rich in Native Americans and the Spanish. There are other people who live in the state of Arizona, but the dominant people who live in the state of Arizona are mainly Native Americans and Spanish. European Americans and Native Americans really form a very big percentage of the people who live in this state. Again, only that can tell us what this state is all about or the destiny of this state. Why is it that Arizona has so many Natives who are living there? People don't stay or live in a place which is not connected to who they are and what they are supposed to do. People who live wherever they live, it is not accidental. It is God who planned it. According to Deuteronomy chapter 32:8, it was the Most High God who decided: their inheritance, boundaries and the particular people to dwell in a particular place. So, people dwell in a particular place which is connected to their spiritual DNA.

You living in Arizona is not a mistake. People coming from wherever they came to stay in Arizona it was not a mistake. It was according to what they are and what the land is. You are supposed to live where your spiritual DNA connects with the spiritual DNA of the land. That's why people migrate. That's why people move from one place and go to other places.

One of the uniqueness's of this state is that it hosts one of the seven natural wonders of the world: the Grand Canyon. This state is known for its stunning desert landscapes and a high Native American population. Actually, around 22 federally recognized tribes are there.

When it comes to revivals in this land, there have been prayer movements and prophetic gatherings that have focused on Arizona as a gatekeeper for the Southwest. So, Arizona, you are a gatekeeper for the Southwest of America.

The current spiritual situation of this state, briefly, I can say is that there is an active Christian community with a growing prophetic and prayer culture. There are some ministries which are growing with that prophetic voice, and so prayer is rising up. But again, there is a cultural conflict between biblical values and New Age occult influences, especially in Sedona.

This state is called the Grand Canyon State. The Grand Canyon is a home of the world-famous Grand Canyon, which is a natural wonder and a significant geographical feature. It is like a rift valley, but this one is not a rift valley. It is a little bit shallow, but go deep like one mile down, around 6,000 feet down with a lot of sedimentary layers and a lot of different layers of rocks. And so, this is one of the things which identify the state of Arizona.

Arizona, if people don't call it the Grand Canyon State, they call it the Copper State because of the mineral called copper. And if they don't call it the Copper State, they call it the Valentine State. Why do they call it the Valentine State? It is because Arizona became a state officially on February 14, 1912. So that's why they call it the Valentine State because it was officially declared a state on the day of Valentine, the day of lovers. It is called the Copper State because it is one of the leading producers of copper in the entire United States of America.

Arizona: The Valentine State • The Copper State • The Grand Canyon State

Arizona carries three powerful nicknames that are not accidents of history but prophetic markers of its destiny in this hour of national repentance, reconciliation, and revival. As the 48th state, admitted to the Union on February 14, 1912 (Valentine's Day), Arizona is the Valentine State, the state of covenant love. It is the Copper State, the great conductor of power and wealth extracted from the depths. And it is the Grand Canyon State, the revealer of hidden layers and majestic depths. Together, these three declare Arizona's role as a spiritual gatekeeper and doorway to the nation (as prophetic voices have long declared over this state).

Arizona's motto, Ditat Deus ("God enriches"), is being redeemed from natural resources to spiritual outpouring. What has long been a desert is becoming a greenhouse of deliverance and a well-watered garden that takes authority (Chuck Pierce prophetic word). Isaiah 35:5-6 is Arizona's portion: the eyes of the blind opened, the ears of the deaf unstopped, and waters breaking out in the wilderness.

1. The Valentine State — The Heart of Covenant Love and Reconciliation

Arizona entered the Union on the day the world celebrates romantic love, but heaven marked it for something far greater: agape love, covenant faithfulness, and the healing of broken hearts. This state is called to demonstrate the love of God that covers a multitude of sins especially the historical sins committed against the First Nations peoples who stewarded this land for millennia. Arizona's destiny includes the restoration of family altars, the healing of marriages and relationships, and the release of a spirit of adoption and belonging.

Linked to the Natives and their destiny: The 22 federally recognized tribes in Arizona (including the largest Navajo Nation and the Hopi) have carried deep wounds from colonization, forced removals, boarding schools, and broken treaties. Yet God is raising Native believers as apostolic and prophetic voices. Prophetic words have declared that the apostolic mantle is coming upon First Nations people and that reservations shall become revival zones. Arizona's Valentine destiny is to lead the Church in genuine repentance and reconciliation with the original peoples. As love flows, the Native church will arise with unique authority to heal the land, guard spiritual gates, and release strategies for national awakening. The "heart" of Arizona will beat in rhythm with the Father's heart for the first Nations.

2. The Copper State — The Conductor of Revival Power and Treasures from the Deep

Arizona produces the majority of America's copper, the metal of conductivity, used for wiring that carries electricity, for strength in alloys (bronze), and historically mined by Indigenous peoples long before European arrival.

Significance to Arizona's destiny: Copper makes Arizona a conductor. This state is called to carry and transmit the power of the Holy Spirit, revival fire, and prophetic anointing across the United States and into the nations especially westward to the Pacific and southward through the border into Latin America. The mining industry speaks of digging deep for hidden treasures. Arizona intercessors and prophets are being commissioned to mine the depths of God and bring forth treasures of wisdom, strategy, and outpouring that have been reserved for this generation.

Biblical connection: Bronze (copper alloy) in Scripture speaks of judgment that has been satisfied (the bronze altar), strength and authority (feet like bronze in Revelation 1:15), and the refining process. Arizona is positioned to help the nation pass through the fire of repentance into purified authority, that's the Apostolic mantle upon Arizona.

Linked to the Natives and their destiny: Indigenous peoples of Arizona were the first copper miners and metallurgists of this land. Their ancient knowledge of the earth's resources is being redeemed. Native believers carry a unique grace to conduct spiritual power to move in signs, wonders, and strategic warfare. As the Copper State rises, Native prayer warriors will help "wire" the nation for revival, connecting prayer altars from reservation to reservation and state to state. The wealth of the land (copper) will be redirected to build the Kingdom rather than only earthly empires.

3. The Grand Canyon State — The Revealer of Depths, Majesty, and Hidden History

The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world — a mile-deep chasm carved by the persistent flow of the Colorado River, exposing nearly two billion years of geological layers.

Significance to Arizona's destiny: This is the place where depths cry out to depths (Psalm 42:7). Arizona is called to reveal what has been hidden, layers of history, hidden sins, ancient covenants, and prophetic destinies. The canyon itself preaches: persistent, relentless prayer and the river of the Holy Spirit can carve through the hardest rock and shape a glorious future. What looks like a barrier becomes a revelation of God's majesty. Arizona will host encounters that open the eyes of the Church to see as God sees, into the depths of His heart and the depths of the nation's need, that's the prophetic mantle upon Arizona.

Sacred to the First Nations: For the Hopi, the Grand Canyon (especially the confluence of the Colorado and Little Colorado Rivers) is the place of emergence where their people came into this world. It is sacred ground filled with shrines, petroglyphs, and ancestral presence. For the Navajo and other tribes, these lands hold deep spiritual significance. The canyon is not merely a tourist site; it is a spiritual portal and memorial of the first Nations' story with the Creator.

Linked to the Natives and their destiny: The Grand Canyon calls the Church to honor the first Nations as the original gatekeepers and stewards. Arizona's destiny includes helping the Native peoples step into their full redemptive purpose not as relics of the past, but as vital voices in the present move of God. As the layers of the canyon are revealed, so too will the layers of Native destiny be uncovered: apostolic authority, land-healing anointing, and a fierce love for the ways of the Lord. The same river that carved the canyon will flow as healing and revival from Native lands across America.

In the context of the 50 Days • 50 States • 50 Years campaign and the 2026 Jubilee (America's 250th anniversary), Arizona carries a specific assignment: to model national repentance for sins against the first Nations, to release a greenhouse covering of deliverance over the Southwest, and to help the Church shift from surviving to overcoming becoming a well-watered garden that takes spiritual authority.

Arizona is not just a desert. It is a prophetic greenhouse where the desert blooms, the depths are revealed, love heals ancient wounds, and power flows to the nations.

Declarations for Arizona

This is Arizona's hour to stand in its full identity and release its portion into the spiritual revolutionary war for America's soul. The gatekeeper has awakened. The conductor is being wired. The depths are crying out.

Hopi Emergence Stories and Navajo Weaving Traditions

Arizona is not only the Grand Canyon State, the Copper State, and the Valentine State; it is also sacred ground where the First Nations have carried profound stories of origin, covenant, stewardship, and creative expression for millennia. Two of the most powerful living traditions in Arizona the Hopi emergence stories centered on the Grand Canyon and the Navajo (Diné) weaving traditions taught by Spider Woman are deeply intertwined with the land itself. These are not merely cultural artifacts; in this prophetic hour they speak directly into Arizona's destiny as a spiritual gatekeeper, a place of emergence, and a loom upon which God is weaving a new pattern for the nation.

The Hopi Emergence: Arizona as the Place of Spiritual Birth and Covenant Stewardship

According to Hopi tradition, their ancestors lived in lower worlds and emerged into this Fourth World through a sacred opening known as the Sipapuni (or Sipapu). This emergence point is located in the Grand Canyon, specifically in the area of the confluence of the Colorado River and the Little Colorado River, a geologic dome and spring formation considered the very heart of the Hopi people.

The emergence was not random. The people came seeking a better way of life after challenges in the previous worlds. Upon emerging, they encountered Maasaw, the Caretaker and guardian of this world. They entered into a sacred covenant: in exchange for being permitted to live in this land, they would care for Mother Earth, walk in balance, and fulfill their responsibilities as stewards. After emergence, the clans undertook extensive migrations across the four directions, learning, purifying themselves, and ultimately settling on the Hopi mesas in northeastern Arizona, their center place.

The entire Grand Canyon is profoundly sacred to the Hopi and associated tribes (including Havasupai, Hualapai, Zuni, and others). It is seen as: the gateway between worlds; the abode of kachinas (ancestral spirits); a living memorial of origin, responsibility, and spiritual identity.

Navajo Weaving: Spider Woman and the Art of Bringing Hózhó into the World

Among the Diné (Navajo), weaving is far more than craft, it is a sacred inheritance. According to tradition, Spider Woman (Na'ashjé'íí Asdzáá), one of the Holy People and a grandmother-teacher figure, taught the Diné how to weave. Her husband, Spider Man, constructed the first loom. Spider Woman journeyed to the four sacred mountains that bound the traditional Diné homeland (parts of which lie in Arizona): gathering wood for the loom, plants for natural dyes, patterns from the thunder beings, and the prayers and songs that accompany the weaving process.

She wove the first pattern of the universe, embodying hózhó — the central Diné concept of beauty, harmony, balance, and the "Beauty Way." This gift was given so the people could clothe and protect themselves and, more importantly, integrate harmony into every aspect of life. Traditional weaving is often accompanied by prayer, song, or chant. The geometric patterns in Navajo rugs and blankets frequently reflect cosmology: sacred mountains, stars, rain, corn, protection, and the interconnected web of life. The continuous thread and the act of weaving itself mirror creation and the maintenance of balance.

Weaving has been a primary way Diné women have stewarded cultural knowledge, economic resilience, and spiritual continuity across generations. These traditions are connected to those of the different tribes in Uganda like Baganda and Bagishu, these traditions continue to tell us how the devil counterfeit the plans of God upon nations.

Prophetic Connections to Arizona's Destiny

These two traditions, emergence through the Grand Canyon and weaving as the embodiment of hózhó are not isolated. They are threads in the same tapestry that God is redeeming and elevating in this season for Arizona and the nation.

1. Arizona as the Place of Emergence (Hopi Sipapuni) The Grand Canyon is literally the emergence portal for the Hopi people into this world. Prophetically, this marks Arizona as a place of spiritual birthing and new beginnings. Just as the Hopi clans emerged seeking a better way and entered a covenant of stewardship, Arizona is positioned for a fresh emergence of the Native American church and a new move of the Spirit across the Southwest. The canyon's layers exposed over time by the persistent river, shows the revealing work of the Holy Spirit in this hour (linking directly to the "Revealer of Depths" aspect of Arizona's Grand Canyon identity).

In the context of the 50 Days • 50 States • 50 Years campaign and the 2026 Jubilee, Arizona carries an invitation for the First Nations to step into their redemptive purpose: to emerge into the fullness of their identity in Christ while bringing their God-given anointings of stewardship, intercession, prophetic, healing and land awareness into the wider Body.

2. Arizona as the Loom of Harmony and Intercession (Navajo Weaving) Spider Woman's journey to the four sacred mountains and her weaving of the pattern of the universe speaks powerfully into Arizona's role. Arizona sits at a geographic and spiritual crossroads (near the Four Corners portal mentioned in previous state destinies). The weaving tradition prophetically pictures the Church and especially Native believers being called to weave together the threads of:

Weaving becomes a picture of strategic intercession that covers and protects the land, connects prayer altars across tribes and states like threads on a loom, and brings hózhó (shalom/harmony) into broken places. The patterns being woven today in the Spirit include reconciliation between Native and non-Native believers, the restoration of family and community altars, and the manifestation of Kingdom beauty in culture and society.

Arizona is being positioned as a spiritual loom and gatekeeper where the original threads of the First Nations are being redeemed, and integrated into the larger tapestry of America's redemptive story. The same land that witnessed the Hopi emergence and taught the Diné to weave hózhó is now being invited to release a new emergence of revival and a freshly woven covering (web) of prayer and reconciliation over the nation.

"Ditat Deus" — God Enriches: A Covenanted State

The motto is "Ditat Deus"—"God Enriches." "God Enriches" briefly reflects the belief in divine provision and prosperity. So, one of the people who started this state perceived this in their spirit: that their provision and their prosperity depended on God. This is very powerful.

If the forefathers saw this and said it, and even made it the motto of the state, what does this mean? It means that there is something they based on to qualify this saying as their motto: "God enriches." So, if the church does not pray for these things, then the devil manipulates them. If Arizona does not live according to its status symbols, it is judged or it lives under a divine curse unless they change the motto. But this is a covenant. So that means that Arizona is a covenanted state to God. This is a covenant. This motto is a word of a covenant. Arizona was covenanted: "God enriches." It is actually in Latin. So that is a covenant. That means that Arizona, you are a covenanted state. If you covenant something to God, it solely becomes God's property. So, if you don't walk according to that covenant, then that means that God can't be happy with you.

One of the prayers which we need to pray is to see to it that, number one, we repent that Arizona has not known to walk according to the motto and according to the covenant. How do we see that the land is covenanted to God? We see it by the symbols which make up a nation. So, we see out of the symbols, it is when we can tell the national symbols, the state symbols out of them we can tell that this land is this or that.

Arizona, you are a covenanted state. But the question comes in: Why did the first people covenant this land to God? Why did they see that it was God who was supposed to be their divine provision, that their prosperity and their livelihood was supposed to be coming from God? What did they see in this? If we don't uphold that, if we don't dig deeper to understand it and to live according to our motto, according to our name, according to what describes us as the people of Arizona, then we are living below the standards of God. We are living not according to what our land is and what our land is supposed to do. Remember, wherever people are staying, that land is connected to who they are and what they are supposed to do. So your land and you have to be in the same agreement, because your destiny is connected to the destiny of the land where you live.

It is very important for us to discover what our land is and what God put in our land. Because we were not there. Nobody was there when God was designing this land. It is God who designed the land of Arizona and the different peoples who have been living in this land. Each one of them has been coming to do a specific work according to their generation. All of the people who have ever lived in Arizona you have one assignment: to fulfill what God put in the spiritual DNA of that land. But every generation has a specific assignment which they have to discover and do.

We are seeing that the founding fathers of the state of Arizona saw and perceived some of these things in their spirit, and they wrote them down. They started calling themselves what that state is. And again, physically, if you look at the physical appearance, the topography of the land, the geography of the land, it also confirms to us that there is something unique in that land. That's why Arizona is different from other states.

But again, these natural features if you study very well, before we even go to the prophecies, some of the prophecies which people have seen (because some people might doubt them; the days we are living in, people are so intellectual and there is a lot of reasoning here and there) but there are things which people can't reason. For instance, the physical landscape of the land, the nature of the land, the name of the land, what the people who lived in that land named that land you can't deny that.

So, can we start from that to discover the deeper purposes of God upon the land of Arizona? Why is it that in Arizona is the one which has one of the seven natural wonders of the world? Why do you think God wanted it that way? Why is the Grand Canyon found in your land? What was God's intention? What did God want us to know about Him? Whatever God does, He is looking for only two things. If you know that it is God who did it, if you know that it is God who designed it—for instance, our nations, our lands you can't tell me that this was the work of any man. Because even men found this land the way the land is. Even the forefathers, even the Catholic Jesuits who came from Spain, they found this land the way it is. Even the Native Americans, they found this land the way this land is. But now, who designed it? Who was this architect? Who drew the plan? Who drew the architectural impression of this land? It was God. Because every one of us found this land the way this land is. And no one can deny it.

Arizona — A Spring of Revival

This is through prayer and meditation, lets inquire of the Lord, Why is it that this land is called a small spring? We consecrate Arizona as a spring of revival. There must be something which will may seem to be small, which will start from this land but cause a big national and international impact (1Kings 18:44), a cloud as small as a man's hand, rising out of Arizona, that's going to cause a heavy rain of the spirit that will cause freshness in the USA. There must be something which the Bible talks about in Matthew chapter 13, verses 31-32 (the mustard seed) something which is very small. But when it is given the right environment, a conducive environment, this seemingly small seed can grow into something which is big. So, Arizona, there is something which seemingly is small. There is a spring of revival which will spark a BIG revival. That's why Arizona, you are a gatekeeper for the Southwest. There is something which has to come out of you that will spread to the entire USA. There is something which is to be birthed. It might look small. Even those people of Arizona everything and everyone should prompt the Spirit of God, however small.

You remember in First Kings chapter 18:44-45, when Elijah started praying for the rain. He prayed for the first time and sent his servant to check. There was nothing. He sent for the second time. He continued praying and sending up to the seventh time. On the seventh time, the servant told Elijah that he could see a little cloud like a man's hand. And immediately Elijah did not despise this small cloud like a hand. He acted faithfully and he told King Ahab, "Prepare your chariots because I hear the sound of abundance of rain coming." Really! When you have only seen a small cloud like a hand! So the people of Arizona, you have that gifting. That is some of the gifting, some of the redemptive gifts that you must have. The prophetic gifting that the land of Arizona has a lot of faith. 1 Kings 18:44–45

So why did God put the Grand Canyon in this state? Why is this state called a small spring? Why is this state called the Copper State? Now when it comes to copper, why did God give you this mineral and you are mining it in big quantities? What is the use of this mineral? Copper is used as a means of electricity in the construction of lines. So please, can we use this to go deeper in prayer.

Confronting the Spirit of Death over Arizona

And another thing which I want us to pray for is that Arizona is one of the progressive states which has progressive and liberal laws against abortion and about same-sex marriage. So, in short, abortion is legal, though it is increasingly becoming restricted, but it is legal in the state of Arizona. And during the 2023 reporting year, the total number of abortions performed in Arizona was 12,888. Those were the number of babies murdered, and hopefully the number has increased of late. And the same-sex marriages recognized in 2020 were 28,745 same-sex marriages. This is crazy, these are high figures.

12,888Abortions performed in Arizona, 2023 reporting year
28,745Same-sex marriages recognized in 2020

Remember, abortions and same-sex marriage are the sacrifices to the altars of the LGBTQ+ altars. So if you want to deal with all the evils, the religious spirit which is eating so rapidly the state of Arizona, and the increased apostasy, religious legalism, secular humanism, denominationalism (which is a high level of witchcraft in this land) if you want to deal with it, deal with the issue of abortion because there is no evil altar which can be powerful without blood. And the highest blood which is required on the evil altars is the blood of human beings. At our altars, godly altars, we only need the blood of Jesus. And even the evil altars, to operate, they need the blood of human beings. So that's why if we don't pray for leaders, they end up legalizing something which they benefit from. So abortion, same-sex marriages, and other sins are sacrifices to the altars of the devil in the land.

If we want to deal with the complacency in the church, the apostles' prominence in the church to destroy and kill the evil altars, we must reduce the number of sacrifices of blood which is being given to the devil. So once the devil is given blood, it becomes powerful. And when the devil becomes powerful, the church becomes weaker and less powerful and becomes powerless. So this is very significant.

The Desert as a Sign of Purification

And now, Arizona being in the physical desert, that shows even what is in the spiritual realm of this land. So this land, it is spiritually dry. Again, it means that this land is a sign of purification. A desert is a sign of purification. A desert is a sign of the spiritual state of a nation. In Acts chapter 8, verses 26 and 27, when the Spirit of God led evangelist Philip to go and evangelize to the Ethiopian eunuch, the man was coming from Ethiopia. The Spirit of God had to describe the direction and the state of the nation of Ethiopia, or the spiritual state of this eunuch. The Spirit of God told Philip that he is in the direction of the desert as you are going to the south. So that is a spiritual direction. That is the spiritual sign of what this man was.

So Arizona being in a desert it is a sign of the spiritual state. Again, it is a sign that this state will be purified through refining. All of us know how copper is refined. How the children of Israel went through the desert (Deuteronomy chapter 8:3, the way). So them going through the wilderness was to purify Egypt out of them. So the way God will deal with the idols in the land of Arizona—it will be through refining. This land will be refined as copper is refined, as the children of Israel were refined in the desert.

So Arizona stands as a desert gate and a spiritual threshold. So, given the fact that Arizona is a small spring, we expect Arizona to usher in living waters of revival at this time when the USA is going through spiritual wilderness. At this particular time, the churches pray for the spiritual fountains of this small spring to open up.

The People Groups of Arizona

It is very important for us to recognize the different people groups who are dominant in this state of Arizona. Remember, we are praying for the destiny or for God's purposes. We want Arizona to align with God's purposes, God's original intent for this land. So as we are doing this, we can't ignore the different people groups who live in this land or who first lived in this land before the Europeans came. America had indigenous people who were there originally. And we call these people the Native Americans. So other people call them the Red Indians, but we call them the Native Americans.

I'm not saying that the Native Americans are the most dominant people group in the state of Arizona. No. Currently it is almost 60% European Americans, but it was mainly occupied by the indigenous people. But other people groups started coming in. So when we look at the original composition of this state, we had the indigenous people, the Mexican people from Mexico (originally they were around almost like 25%). Then we had the Germans (mainly like 16%), the English (like 10%), Irish (like 10%), and the natives. These were the people who were originally living in the land. But currently the European Americans are the most dominant people group in the state of Arizona.

~60%European Americans — currently the most dominant group
~4–5%Native Americans — carry the mantle of firstborn stewards
22Federally recognized tribes in Arizona
570+Federally recognized tribes nationwide

But we have been severally talking about the calling, the destiny, the redemptive gifts and purposes upon the European Americans. But briefly, tonight I want us to talk about the Native Americans and most especially the tribes which are dominant in the state of Arizona. We have, according to the Constitution of America, around 570 (or now over 570) federally recognized tribes. So these recognized tribes of the Native Americans contribute a lot. Remember these are the indigenous people. They carry that grace of being the stewards of the land for many years, for many millenniums. So these people, they carry or they shaped the spiritual and the character foundations, whether good or bad. They shaped the spiritual and the cultural foundation of the nation of America.

And the major influential tribes—they are around five. And one of them is the Apache. There is another one called the Sioux (that one is mainly in Dakota and Lakota). We have another one called Cherokee. And we have another one called Iroquois. We have another one which I am going to be talking about briefly, called the Navajo. So these are the major five influential tribes of the indigenous Americans.

These tribes, they carry, they transferred, they influenced their agriculture knowledge, their territorial wisdom and their spiritual insights to most of the tribes or people groups who lived or who came to live in this nation of America thereafter. So we cannot ignore these people. These people—their names, their history, their origin, their uniquenesses, their spiritual dynamics and the possible prophetic destinies of these people cannot be ignored.

The Native Americans these were the original inhabitants and spiritual stewards of the land of America. So these people are deeply spiritual people with reverence over the Creator. So their tribal identity is rooted in community, covenant and sacred place. One of the uniquenesses which these people possess is that they possess the prophetic calling often seen as the firstborn of the land with a redemptive role in restoration and reconciliation. So this is how we can view the Native Americans.

We believe that these land stewards, they taught the early settlers, the early Europeans, the African Americans, about agriculture, about herbal medicine, about hunting, environmental management, and all sorts of things which were vital for shaping the character and the foundations of the people who are even currently residing in the nation of America. We have names and so many places and languages in America which still carry the native names of the Native Americans. We have cities, we have states, we have rivers which bear the name or the native names of the Native Americans like Mississippi, Ohio, Dakota, and so many others. They carry native names of the Native Americans. This is one of the things which you have to recognize about the Native Americans. They have a deep reverence for spiritual things, for the Creator and the creation. So if this gift is not handled by prayer, definitely the devil manipulates it, and the devil has manipulated it already. So if we are to pray right for these people to be redeemed, we must first understand them.

Native Americans: The Firstborn of the Land

When we look at the prophetic and redemptive destiny of the Native Americans, many people believe that these were the firstborn of the land. They have that mantle; they have that mandate upon them. You cannot ignore it. When you read Genesis chapter 49, verse 3: "Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might and the beginning of my strength, the preeminence of dignity and the preeminence of power." Verse 4: "Boiling over as water, thou shalt not have the preeminence because thou went up to thy father's bed then defiled it." So are you seeing what Jacob spoke about his firstborn Reuben? When we say that the Native Americans were the firstborn in this nation of America, and today we are seeing that they are almost the least people—what happened to them? What was the problem? I've just drawn a biblical example of the firstborn of Jacob. Reuben was the firstborn of Jacob, but because of a sexual sin, they lost their inheritance because a firstborn is supposed to have two things: he is supposed to become the steward of the riches of the father, of the blessings of the father. Secondly, a firstborn is the one who is supposed to carry on the spiritual mantle of the family, the destiny of the family. It is so—these are the two portions, double blessings which a firstborn gets. He becomes the steward of the resources, of the blessings which the father had.

The Native Americans are supposed to be the rightful heir to the physical wealth of the nation of America. But why is it that God had to bring in other people from Europe, from Africa, from Asia now to inhabit, to be part of the heir, to be part of the dominant tribes, to be the dominant people groups in this nation of America? Why? So we can borrow a leaf from what happened in Genesis chapter 49, verses 3 and 4. The firstborn of Jacob lost the first portion of the inheritance, the right of being a firstborn. We are seeing the same thing happening to the son of Isaac. We are seeing actually Esau also missing his inheritance. We are seeing him missing also his birthright of being the firstborn. When you read Genesis 25:32: "And Esau said, Behold, I am about to die, and what profit shall the birthright do to me?" And Jacob said, "Swear to me first." And he swore unto him. And he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Remember, Esau was the firstborn of Isaac. But we are seeing that he is selling his birthright. Esau just sold his birthright because of food. But again, we are seeing Reuben losing his birthright this time, not because he sold it—this time it was because of a sin.

So what could be the possible reason why today—we are not condemning Native Americans. We are doing this in order to redeem them. Because you cannot give a medical prescription to a patient until you have diagnosed the problem, and we will be able to give the right medical prescription to the Native Americans. So we are saying, could it be the same case as it was with Reuben that they forfeited their birthright because of a sexual sin? Could it be because they sold their birthright as Esau did in Genesis 25:32-33? Even though Reuben lost his birthright, there was a chance. Actually, his own father cursed him. Jacob cursed his firstborn. He cursed him that "you will never excel in life" according to Genesis 49:3-4. You will never excel in life. But again, we are seeing that time came when they were about to enter into the promised land. God raised another spiritual father, called Moses, to the 12 tribes of Israel. So God raised a prophet, a spiritual father, and spoke redemption, spoke restoration, spoke deliverance. He spoke reverence to all the 12 tribes of Israel. This is exactly what we are after. We want to speak reverence. We want to speak restoration to the tribe or to the native nations of the Native Americans.

So Moses spoke. You can read the entire chapter of Deuteronomy chapter 33 before these people entering into their destiny. So before preparing the nation of America to enter into her destiny, we are not going to leave any tribe, any people group outside the box, outside the bracket, because every tribe, every people group in the state of America matters. Everyone has a contribution. Everyone has a uniqueness. So if America will be fulfilled as a body, we need every part of the body. We need everyone on board. We need everyone to be redeemed, to be restored. That's why we are digging a little bit deeper to understand the Native Americans right now.

The white or the European Americans in the state of Arizona—they are around almost 60%. The Native Americans—they are around 4-5%. But this 4-5%, you cannot ignore it, because these are the people who originally carried the mantle of being a firstborn. These are the people who carried the mantle of being the stewards of the land of America. So we cannot ignore them.

Deuteronomy 33. But because of time, Moses commanded us a law, an inheritance for the assembly of Jacob. Are you getting it? For the assembly of Jacob. And when you read through, you find that verse 6 of Deuteronomy 33, Moses is prophetically redeeming the tribe of Reuben: "Let Reuben live and not die, nor let his men be few." So Moses is speaking life, is speaking redemption, is speaking deliverance to the tribe of Reuben, the firstborn of Jacob, who had been cursed, who had lost his birthright of being the firstborn. Deuteronomy 33:6

Now, are we going to prophetically speak or pray for the tribe of the Native Americans to be delivered, to take up their redemptive purposes? So all these are questions which we need to bring before God.

And when you look at how Jacob told Esau the way how he was supposed to be delivered? We have seen that Reuben, when he lost his calling as the firstborn, he was redeemed by God raising a pastor, a prophet, who spoke reverence, who spoke life, who spoke restoration. But what about Esau? Genesis chapter 27, verse 40: "And by the sword shall thou live, and thou shalt serve thy brother. And it shall come to pass..." So is there another gap for Esau to be delivered? By only this prophetic word: "it shall come to pass." This is what I am speaking to the Native Americans. That even though it could seem as if you had lost your birthright of being the firstborn in the nation of America, but always there is a time for redemption. There is a time for the river. There is a time for us to be brought back into God's purposes. And this is exactly what Isaac is speaking to Esau: "And it shall come to pass." Thus says the Lord to the people of the Native Americans: "When thou shalt break loose... So you need to rise up and wage a war that thou shalt shake his yoke from off thy neck." There is a yoke which you have to rise up and shake and shake it off thy neck.

Can we take Deuteronomy chapter 33, verse 6? We are going to speak about you people, the Native Americans, prophetically, as your brothers, as your spiritual partners. At the same time, we are going to pray for you to rise up, to shake off, to break loose. You must break loose the yoke which is on your neck which made you to lose your inheritance as the firstborn. This is how the devil has been working it. The devil has not started with the Native Americans. This is exactly what the devil has been doing in Africa. This is what the devil has been doing time immemorial, even right away from the scriptures. He did this to Adam. That's why the second Adam had to come in. He did the same thing to Reuben. He also lost his first birthright. Esau, the son to Isaac, also lost his birthright. But all of them were redeemed.

So the devil in most cases works to distort, to make us delay, to destroy our redemptive destinies. And this is what the devil did to the Native Americans by making people to be oppressed by their cultures, by bringing spiritual deceptions, by bringing anti-biblical laws and practices. So these are some of the things which made the people of the Native Americans to lose or to forfeit or to be displaced, to lose their inheritance. Amen.

So we need to deal with the spiritual deception. We need to deal with every anti-biblical practice, to repent of the witchcraft, the sorcery which is embedded in the tribes of the Native Americans.

The Navajo Tribe — "Diné," Meaning "The People"

So one of the most dominant tribes of the Native Americans which is in Arizona is the Navajo tribe. Because this is the tribe which is predominantly, primarily in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah—these states—they are mainly. This is the main or the dominant tribe which is in the area. The name "Navajo" is a Spanish interpretation. There is something which they call the Tewa word for Navajo, meaning a planted field or large planted fields. And the Navajo people, they call themselves "Diné," meaning "the people." So they call themselves "the people." Do you know what that means? That's how they see themselves—as the people.

And these people originally, they were semi-nomadic. They could move from one place to another, walking long distances as a way of life. Remember, this Navajo is one of the largest U.S. tribes by land and population. And they are known for their complex governance, their stunning art in weaving and silver work, and their resilience. So are you seeing some of the redemptive gifts upon these people? We need those gifts to be redeemed.

The spiritual, the current spiritual situation—so there is a mix of Christianity and traditional beliefs. That's complacency when it comes to the Native nations which live in the state of Arizona. So the Native American tribes, they carry a unique prophetic and spiritual inheritance rooted in their identity, rooted in their history, rooted in their geography. And their influence is not merely historical, but remains vital even today. Each tribe reflects a dimension of God's redemptive calling for the nation of America. As these people are prophets, they are warriors, they are healers and intercessors. As God is awakening, as we are preparing the nation of America to enter into her destiny, as God is preparing the nation of America to receive another visitation, to receive the third awakening—so we need to honor and partner with the indigenous voices. These people have a deeper healing. And a national revival, if it is to happen, we need everyone on board. We need the people who carried the mantle of being the firstborn. We need their intercessory anointing or mantle or gifting.

In intercession, there are sections and departments. There are different giftings even in intercession. So these people, they carry that anointing of Jeremiah chapter 1, verse 10. So that is one of their callings in their DNA. They are intercessors who carry a prophetic, spiritual warfare anointing when it comes to intercession. So they have the grace of overcoming territorial powers. They have that grace. And we need that. Again, these people, they carry that anointing of healing. These people, they have that gifting of healing. They are warriors. So we need to awaken what these people are and what these people are called to do.

Because now when you look at the European Americans, who are the most dominant people in this land, again, the European Americans—they don't carry this anointing. The anointing is leadership. That is their calling. That's their gifting. They are good at administration. They are good at governance. They are good at making things straight, giving leadership, giving the structure of something. But if it comes to spiritual warfare, worship and intercession, then it is when we need the indigenous people of the nation of America.

✦ Let's Pray — Arizona Day 40 ✦

We thank you Lord for all the indigenous groups, indigenous tribes of the nation of America. The Apache, the Sioux, the Cherokee, the Navajo, the Iroquois, and others. Thank you, Lord my God. These are the people who carry the spiritual DNA, the spiritual mantle of being the firstborn, the stewards of the land, the stewards of the land of America.

We are standing as Moses stood to declare, to prophetically speak redemption, to prophetically speak healing. He spoke deliverance to the people, actually to the tribe of Reuben, and reversed the curse which was upon the people of the tribe of Reuben which had made them to lose their anointing, to lose their gifting of being the firstborns. We are speaking to the Native Americans to rise up in the name of Jesus. We are speaking redemption. We are speaking salvation. We are speaking—let all your gifting, as Jacob spoke to his son Esau after he had lost his rights of being a firstborn. The Bible tells us that Isaac spoke that one day it shall come to pass when Esau rises up and shakes off the burden, the yoke which was on his neck. In the name of Jesus, we are praying that may the people, may the Native Americans rise up to shake off the yoke which is on their neck which made them to lose their right of being the firstborn, of being the stewards of the land of America, in the mighty name of Jesus.

LET YOUR KINGDOM COME AND YOUR WILL BE DONE IN ARIZONA AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. Amen.
