Opening theGlobal Spiritual Portals

1 October – 3 November

To contend for God’s original purposes over creation - people, places, nations, and systems - and to ask that what was corrupted after the fall be realigned to Christ, through whom and for whom all things were made.

Why this watch exists

Romans 8 · Psalm 139 · Jeremiah 1

This is not a campaign for private blessing only. It is priestly work. Romans 8:19–30 says creation is groaning, subjected to futility, and waiting for the revealing of the sons of God. The Spirit Himself intercedes when we do not know how to pray. Psalm 139:15–17 says every created thing was written in God’s book before it appeared. Jeremiah 1:5–10 says God knows, consecrates, and appoints - and sets His word over nations to uproot and to plant.

Romans 8:19, 26 “For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God… The Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

The watch ends on 3 November 2026, United States midterm Election Day - a civic hinge that will shape the 120th Congress and the climate of many nations. The period also covers Halloween and Allhallowtide, Uganda’s Independence Day on 9 October, and the heart of Tishrei, the seventh biblical month and the civil head of the Hebrew year.

What spiritual portals are in Scripture

The Bible does not use the modern word portal as a technique. It speaks of gates, doors, windows of heaven, opened heavens, ladders, and thresholds - places and moments of transition where God meets a people, authority is exercised, and blessing or judgment passes.

Bethel

Jacob named the place “the house of God” and “the gate of heaven” (Genesis 28:16–17). Jesus applies that picture to Himself (John 1:51). The ultimate portal is a Person, not a latitude.

Windows of heaven

Opened in judgment in Noah’s day (Genesis 7:11) and in blessing in Deuteronomy 28:12 and Malachi 3:10. The same language can carry mercy or wrath.

Christ the Door

“I am the door” (John 10:9). Opened heavens over His baptism. An open door in Revelation 4:1. Every lesser gate is tested by this one.

City gates were the place of judgment, commerce, and decree. Psalm 24 cries, “Lift up your heads, O you gates… that the King of glory may come in.” Intercession for nations is, in part, Psalm 24 work: inviting the rightful King through historic and cultural gates.

Stay under Scripture. Jesus is the only Mediator. Pray original purpose, not fascination with darkness. An “open heaven” without holiness becomes a stage for deception. Romans 8: this watch is cooperation with the Spirit, not a technique for forcing heaven.

October and April

Creation and redemption - two beginnings on one calendar

The Hebrew calendar carries two beginnings. The Bible numbers months from Nisan, the spring month of the Exodus (Exodus 12:2). Later practice also counts a civil year from Tishrei in the autumn. Rabbi Eliezer held that the world was created in Tishrei; Rabbi Yehoshua held Nisan. The Church does not have to settle a Talmudic dispute to hear both notes: God is Creator and Redeemer.

October / Tishrei - Creation

  • Seventh biblical month; first month of the civil year. The name means “beginning.”
  • Trumpets, Days of Awe, Atonement, Tabernacles.
  • Humanity as image and steward; harvest and dwelling of God.
  • Pray original design, order, fruitfulness, and the kingship of God over what He made.

April / Nisan - Redemption

  • Ecclesiastical first month. God reset the calendar at the Exodus.
  • Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits.
  • Blood on the door; a people brought out; Cross and resurrection.
  • Pray deliverance, new birth, and the purchase of all things by the Lamb.

When things were created they were good. After the fall they were corrupted. They needed a Savior. October asks, “What did God make?” April asks, “How does God buy it back?”

This October’s thresholds

31 October

Halloween, All Hallows’ Eve, All Saints (1 Nov), All Souls (2 Nov), and Reformation Day (1517). Pray against the normalization of darkness, for holy memory of the saints, and for a Church reformed by the Word.

9 & 24 October

Uganda’s Independence Day - a national birthday and a call to headwaters. United Nations Day touches the New York diplomatic gate.

3 November 2026

U.S. midterm Election Day: all 435 House seats, 35 Senate seats, many governorships. Do not baptize a party. Ask that those who sit in gates of law and speech would fear God.

2026 also sits inside a digital revolution. A global gate is not only a city. It is a system: who owns attention, who writes the algorithms, who defines the human being. Luke 12:54–57 still asks whether we can interpret the time, not only the weather. The Middle East and Africa were the known world long before Europe or America wrote the maps.

Prayer field one - the United States

The United States is not the Kingdom of God. It is a nation whose decisions still travel. Education, entertainment, finance, military posture, and revival history have all been exported from American gates. As America goes, many nations feel the tremor.

GateWhy it is a threshold
Salem & MassachusettsWitchcraft / Halloween marketplace on the memory of 1692; also Plymouth, the Revolution, Harvard (1636), and the birthplace of the National Guard.
Los Angeles / Azusa StreetEntertainment capital; 1906 Seymour revival that sent Pentecost toward the nations.
Washington, D.C.Law, war, representation - the civic heart.
New YorkWall Street and the United Nations.
NashvilleWorship and song for the American church and beyond.
TexasEnergy, border, missions - a priestly / sending gate.
Seattle & Silicon ValleyTech and the discipling of the digital age.
FloridaGateway of the Americas and the Caribbean.
Four CornersMeeting of four states and many first nations.
Belle Fourche, South DakotaNear the geographic center of all fifty states.
Bermuda Triangle regionRefuse superstition; pray the actual sea and sky lanes of the Atlantic approaches.

Also name Chicago, New Orleans, Atlanta, Hawaii and Alaska, Ellis Island / the Hudson approaches, campuses, ports, and military bases.

Salem - why this city, why this month

Salem was not founded as Witch City. It was founded as a bid for peace. In 1626 Roger Conant settled Naumkeag. The name Salem comes from Hebrew shalom - the same root as Jerusalem. A city named Peace later became America’s synonym for accusation, hanging, and Halloween.

Church gate - 1629

On 6 August 1629, after a fast appointed by John Endicott, settlers covenanted as the First Church in Salem - among the oldest churches in English North America, and the first organized on congregational polity. Higginson’s covenant: to walk together in all the Lord’s ways as He reveals Himself in His word. Roger Williams later preached there and was banished. The tragedy of 1692 is not that Puritans believed the devil was real. It is that fear, land-feud, bad law, and untested visions wore the clothes of holiness.

Militia gate - 1636

On 13 December 1636 the Massachusetts General Court ordered the North, South, and East Regiments. The East Regiment mustered on Salem Common in 1637. Public Law 112-241 (2013) designates Salem the Birthplace of the National Guard. Four of the oldest U.S. Army units still trace that lineage. Salem holds priest, soldier, and judge in one place.

1692 and the October brand

Nineteen were hanged at Proctor’s Ledge; Giles Corey was pressed to death on 19 September; others died in jail. The last hanging day was 22 September. Late summer was the killing season. October was the beginning of the recoil - and is now the month the culture rents the stage. Haunted Happenings began in 1982. Recent Octobers draw on the order of a million visitors to a city of about 45,000.

People come for history, carnival, identity, grief, spectacle - and a smaller number for actual occult practice. Do not map their rites. Name the lie: that hidden knowledge will make a person safe, special, or in control. The backbone of witchcraft is not a shopkeeper in a costume. It is the claim that power can be had apart from the fear of the Lord. Neither gallows nor merchandise breaks that claim. Only the Cross does (Colossians 2:15).

Matthew 4:15–17 “Galilee of the Gentiles - the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death light has dawned.” From that time Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

This is not a code that Salem equals Capernaum. It is the Lord’s method. He plants the first public rays of the kingdom in the place everyone else has already named dark. Mixed ground is mission ground. The first word is still Repent. The King is near.

Prayer field two - Uganda and Africa

9 October 1962 is Uganda’s Independence Day. Carry the signs to God without turning them into charms: the equator crosses the country; the Nile leaves these waters toward dry nations; Churchill called it the Pearl of Africa after 1907 - a pearl formed under pressure.

Invitation and martyrdom

Kabaka Muteesa I asked for teachers of the living God. Stanley’s 1875 letter carried the invitation. CMS arrived 1877; the White Fathers in 1879. Under Mwanga the Uganda Martyrs (1885–86) kept Christ at Namugongo. Received by request. Kept by blood.

East African Revival

Simeon Nsibambi, with Joe Church on Namirembe Hill, became a headwater of public confession, the Blood of Jesus, and walking in the light. Travail started in Uganda and ignited the region. Ask that it would happen again - not as nostalgia, as deeper obedience.

Isaiah 18 addresses Cush - the upper Nile world in the prophet’s day - and ends with a gift brought to Zion. Do not paste the chapter onto Uganda’s modern borders alone. Do pray Psalm 68:31: Cush stretching out her hands to God. Africa must not only receive; she must send.

Sequence as prayer, not a map we force: Uganda ignites → East Africa catches → Africa ignites → the nations receive. Seymour’s Azusa (1906), Woodworth-Etter, and the “no ebb” word Arthur Burt carried all point to harvest that does not recede. Their dates are not a calendar we control. Their burden is a prayer.

Prayer field three - Israel and the Middle East

Everything began in the Tigris–Euphrates world, the call of Abraham, Egypt and Sinai, and Zion - not in London or New York. Israel functions as a “global clock” only in this limited sense: God tied His name to that people; the nations keep colliding over Jerusalem; Romans 11 still stands. Jesus forbade date-setting. Watch and obey.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122), for the salvation of Israel (Romans 9–11), and for Arab churches that have kept the Name through centuries. Pray Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Jordan, the Gulf, and Yemen. Pray that oil, water, shrines, and weapons would not be gods. Read this clock with tears, not with excitement that forgets the wounded.

How to walk the 34 days

Keep the fast the Lord assigns. Isaiah 58 remains the test - a fast that loosens chains, feeds the hungry, and houses the poor is heard in heaven.

DatesFocus
1–8 OctoberCreation week. Pray Romans 8 and Genesis 1 over body, family, land, and work. Land on Uganda’s birthday the 9th.
9–23 OctoberAfrican headwaters and American gates. Keep Tishrei’s notes of repentance and dwelling. Give Salem its October due.
24–30 OctoberNations gathered (UN Day) and digital gates. Pray for truth in the public square.
31 Oct – 2 NovAllhallowtide. Renounce darkness; remember the saints; ask for reformation.
3 NovemberStand at the American civic gate without panic or triumphalism. Give thanks. Keep watch beyond the news cycle.

Prayers for the watch

Over the United States

  1. Father, we bring the United States as a steward-nation, not as an idol. You raise up and You bring down.
  2. Let Jesus the Door stand in every named gate. Restore first love in gospel seed, just law, and missionary sending.
  3. We renounce the public celebration of darkness. Fill those streets with the fear of the Lord and mercy for the deceived.
  4. Restore universities to wisdom. Cleanse the well of Azusa. Give Los Angeles stories that heal rather than addict.
  5. In Washington and New York raise Josephs and Daniels. Disciple the tech gates. Let tools serve persons.
  6. On 3 November let justice roll. Thwart manipulation. Guard the ballot. Keep the Church from baptizing Caesar.

Over Salem

  1. Honor the first name. Let shalom outlive Witch City.
  2. Lift again the 1629 lamp: walk together in all Your ways. Give holy courage without the cruelty of 1692.
  3. Bless Salem Common and those who bear the sword as a terror to evil and a shield to the innocent.
  4. Let the blood of those hanged and pressed be answered by the blood of the Lamb, not by a new cycle of fear.
  5. Break the backbone of witchcraft - the claim that power can be taken beside You. Shut gates of accusation, spectacle, and the recruitment of the young.
  6. Open the gates of heaven. Let Matthew 4 be more than a citation. Send laborers into the October crowds.

Over Uganda and Africa

  1. On the approach of 9 October, bless Uganda’s birthday with clean government, healed tribes, and a Church that still knows how to repent in public.
  2. As the waters leave this land to feed dry nations, let living water leave this land.
  3. Honor Muteesa’s invitation and the blood of the martyrs. Let Namugongo not be a ceremony only.
  4. Remember Nsibambi. Restore walking in the light. Bind respectable unholiness in pulpits and palaces.
  5. Pearl of Africa - let pressure produce beauty, not bitterness. Ignite East Africa again, then the continent, then the nations.

Over Israel and the Middle East

  1. God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, keep Your covenant kindness. Let Israel find her Messiah.
  2. Prince of Peace, restrain the fire. Protect children. Expose lies on every side.
  3. Strengthen Jewish and Arab believers. Make the one new man of Ephesians 2 visible in the land where the wall was first broken.
  4. Over Jerusalem we ask for Your purpose, not merely for anyone’s slogan. Defend the poor of the city.
  5. Let the ancient wells yield living water again. Teach the global Church to read this clock with tears.
